"Tammy Grimes, founder of Dogs Deserve Better, was arrested September 11, 2006 for helping a dying chained dog named Doogie who could not stand in East Freedom, Pennsylvania . Below are the details of the case, with photo and video documentation. "

WARNING...... the photos and video are very powerful and upsetting. You'll know why this dog needed attention ASAP.

this has gathered aprox 8700 sigs in 9 days !!

This is not a dog suffering just from arthritis as the owners claim !!!! It's clearly dying. Look at the rusted bowls for food and water. DISGUSTING !!

Anyone in volunteer animal rescue knows that most PA. Dog Law Officers do very little to help our animals. PA. has some the U.S. 's most archaic pet welfare laws & if they even show up, they do little. Most of these people are "career" municipal employees.

Why didn't the local PD check out Ms. Grimes' story? Having Law Enforcement Officers in my family, they were appalled at the lack of basic police procedure in this case.

Judge Paula Aigner treated Tammy Grimes worse that DUI drivers in this state.

The bail was EXCESSIVE ($50,000 unsecured as PA DUI drivers get released a few hours after arrest with NO bail ) :
WHY do the owners (Arnold's) care so much about a dog they "claim" they were going to euthanize ?? ** Arnold 's should be cited for animal abuse/neglect.

Look around Tammy's site (Dogs Deserve Better) as she crusades to get dogs off chains ties to trees/dog boxes with no/little human attention. She does a "Chain-OFF" each year when people stay chained to crappy doghouses as long as they can for a prize. It prove a valid point.
DDB is a 501c3 non-profit org.
