Ok, this is one of my new Favorite movies!

I just ADORE everything about it!

The story is classic, the coloring is amazing, the cinematography great, and the Music is wonderful!

I was laughing my butt off throughout this movie!

Anyone else smitten with the soggy bottom boys?
:LOL

Oh, and I didn't used to like Clooney, but I am developing a new respect for him after his last three movies!

Agree to everything above... I am a big fan of the soundtrack too. GC doesn't do much for me, but he was great in the film. I am such a sucker for a southern jaunt of a good time.

I loved it! The sound track is great! Not that it means any thing but it won a grammy.

I'm glad it won a grammy!
I like to see good movies get some recognition.

My favorite was Moulin Rouge, and I was happy that they were nominated for so many catagories, but why wasn't Ewan McGregor Nominated?
He was amazing?!!

I liked it, too. Especially the soundtrack. Even "movie snob" dh appreciated it. I'm a big fan of John Turturro. I'd like to hear the opinions of some southeners; I think there may have been some big stereotyping going on, but I'm so far-removed from things that I don't always pick up on it.

http://us.imdb.com/Name?Turturro,+John

I'm not familiar with half of these movies, only The Big Lebowski, Unstrung Heroes, Barton Fink, ******'s Crossing, and all of those early ones.

I loved this movie too! I love everything the Cohen (Coen?) brothers do! Did anyone see "the Man Who Wasn't There" with Billy Bob Thorton? It is amazing too.
And in OBWAT - George Clooney is dreamy . .sigh.

OBWAT = O Brother Where Art Thou, i presume!

The Soggy Bottom Boys ROCK! I love how they dance. And the soundtrack is the favorite CD in our household; even dd is singing You Are My Sunshine. We were into bluegrass/traditional music long before the movie so it was great to see some of the artists get mainstream exposure.

as a bonafied southerner, I thought the depiction was accurate. I love that movie and have the soundtrack plus the O Sister soundtrack.

I am a big cohen bros fan. Seen almost all of them.

I'm a Cohen Bros. fan, too. And I've seen just about everything with John Tutturo.

I thought the movie was hilarious! I loved it! Neither dh or I are Clooney fans so we were hesitant to go to the theater or rent it. But it was on one of the movie channels a couple of weeks ago so we watched it. Dh loved it, too.

BTW, abimommy, I love Raising Arizona, too. It's been one of my favorite all time movies for years. Saw part of it yesterday while folding laundry. The Big Lebowski is also one of my favs.

Just happened across this thread and we're listening to the soundtrack right now

keep on the sunny side
always on the sunny side of life!

BTW - abimommy I think you're my long lost twin, I've been agreeing with you so much these days! I also love raising arizona - we just re-rented it. I have to say though, now with a dd, it makes me cringe - some of the scenes! Still wonderful!

(And I do looove GC, thats been a long time crush o mine *blush*)

We all love OBWAT movie and sountrack. Dh watched it once w/ dd and now they watch "The Guys" on rainy Sundays when I'm at work. She's hooked. Not exactly appropriate for a 3yo, but he covers her eyes during the bad parts. :

... but I saw OBWAT last night and it was great! Bona fide! I can't believe I like George Clooney. He looked very Clark Gable-esque in this, did he not? And Holly Hunter, as always, was great. I love her, have ever since The Piano. And I loved how real historical people showed up here and there (Tommy, Babyface Nelson). Anyway, I think I'm going to head out and pick the soundtrack as soon as the little one wakes up from her nap. DP and I have decided that we want to move to Big Rock Candy Mountain.
