I haven't watched A Charlie Brown Christmas in a long time. I should, because it's an ongoing family joke (sort of) that my mom and I love "Charlie Brown trees". I don't like my trees super bushy. I like them a bit sparse, so I can put ornaments inside and have them still be visible.

DD was at a craft show last weekend. She said that there was a vendor selling replica Charlie Brown trees. Little scraggly evergreens on a wooden base and with a single heavy ornament pulling the tip over toward the ground. I guess they were selling really well!

Definitely not a kid movie but a favorite this time of year - The Ref.  Oh and Trading Places is another one.

My girls love T'was the Night Before Christmas, the mouse cartoon by Rankin and Bass. It's simple and sweet.

The old school 'Babes in Toyland' with Drew Barrymore and Keanu Reeves.. not the best acting, but I adored this movie as a kid.

And of course, Home Alone 1 and 2.

Not for little kids, but my family watches Jingle All the Way every year. Really funny, the late Phil Hartmen steals the show in a supporting role.

Polar Express, in 3D and in a theater, if you can find it.  Love this movie and I'll never forget seeing it on an IMAX screen on Christmas Day!

Meet Me in St Louis. I love it. Funny, sad, hilariously dated but still witty...

We love Polar Express to watch on Christmas Eve, and I think a pretty wide age range would enjoy it (at least my 2-11 year olds all like it!)

One of my favorite christmas movies is The Homecoming.  That must have been on in the late 70s when I was a kid.  yeah, I am an older mom!  But I still find it very moving.  Another favorite as a kid was mr. magoo's christmas carol.  Probably no one has even heard of mr. magoo and I never actually saw any of the other mr. magoo cartoons, but this one has some really nice songs in it and I still like it.  My kids saw it last year (13 and 8) and they actually liked it better than frosty or rudolph.  little bear's solstice special is another fav, but my kids are kind of old for little bear now!

One I forgot is Annabelle's Wish. It's a bit on the sappy side, but my kids adore it.

Just to warn others - National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation has a lot of swears and some sexual references in it, so we haven't watched it with our boys yet.

Our boys really enjoyed Elf and Home Alone.  Rudolph is a yearly tradition.

One more holiday movie that no one has mentioned yet is Fred Claus with Vince Vaughn.  We watched that last year and are looking forward to seeing it again this year.
