Came back to see who else was on the list...and 2 or 3 people had mentioned Steve Perry...I heard him on the radio today and said aloud "Steve Perry!" Got all warm and tingly (he does that to me.) My kids were in the truck with me, and were probably wondering why I had such a goofy look on my face. Had to come and add him to the list. I have a 2 cd set of Journey...and a bunch of my dh's old Journey cd's I have "borrowed." How could I have forgotten?!? tinybutterfly

*~reviving this very interesting thread~*

For me, it's definitely Jeff Buckely and Ani Difranco.
Separately though, not together.

Ahhhhh....!!!! (DAK= Drooling at Keyboard).

In the real world I am a totally boring monagamous in every way sort of person. However, I have had a thing for voices my whole life. Sooo, my list is long, historical, and divided into three groups (mostly) of: gay, dead, and/or women with distinctive voices
Men:
Elvis (only if he sings "Cold Kentucky Rain" at the time)
Ian Curtis( the dead lead singer from Joy Division )
Freddy Mercury (Queen)
Martin Fry (ABC)
Chris Isaaks
Andy Bell (Erasure)
Morissey
Jorma Kaukonen
John all the way and early Paul
Peter Gabriel (NOT Phil Collins he makes me want to :Puke )
Jerry Rivera
The beautifully voiced dead guy from Buena Vista Social Club
Jim Reid (Jesus & Mary Chain)
Johnny Cash

Women:
Signe Anderson,Grace Slick
SineadTori,kd,
Any one from TLC,
Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney)
Patti Cathcart
Patti Smith
Kathleen Hanna
Petula Clark, Julie Andrews
Alison Moyet (YAZ)
Billie Holiday,
Queen Latifah,
The lead Singer from Luscious Jackson
Patsy Kline
Meg Christian
Martha Davis (Motels)
Shawn Colvin
Carole King,Aretha,Anita Baker
Sade, Siouxie Sioux,
Crissie Hyde
Amy Ray (heck, either of the Indigo Girls!)
: I suspect I've embarassed myself enough this evening. This post will self distruct in 60 seconds.
