I know this is silly, but I just love The Money Pit with Tom Hanks and Shelley Long and
Heart and Souls with Robert Downey Jr, Charles Grodin and Kyra Sedgewick.

Before you were conceived, I wanted you. Before you were born I loved you. Before you were a minute old, I would have died for you. That is the miracle of life. ~Maureen Hawkins~

Yes, Edward Scissorhands. Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, 'nuff said!

What about more classic films? I love Duck Soup with the Marx Bros. Also Some Like It Hot.

Sorry to go on and on, but if you love Tim Burton and John Waters, you have to love Plan 9 From Outer Space by Ed Wood. The worst movie ever made! (and then watch Ed Wood (the movie) with, who else, Johnny Depp! Martin Landau won a best supporting for portraying Bela Lugosi, who played "the old man" in Plan 9. He died during production , so they had to fake it, and did, badly. )

I love campy stuff, so also catch Mystery Science Theatre 3K as often as I can.

Amymarie,
One of my favorite scenes is when the bathtub falls through the floor and Tom is standing over the hole just hysterically laughing.

How could I forget about Tim Burton?

Mars Attacks is my super favorite, followed by Plan 9!
Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christma's and Beetlejuice are big time favorites too!

Oh, yes, Tim Burton!
50% of the movies we own are his! I love the guy! Have you checked his comics at shockwave? They're awsome!
IMO, the way you know if you will get along with someone is to ask them if they like Mars Attack....

Still no mention of GREASE? I just don't get it. I've watched this movie over a million times since I was like 10 or something. I also love:

Welcome to the Dollhouse
Once Were Warriors
The Jerk
Xanadu.....yes! you read right
Like Water for Chocolate
Cider House Rules
Pretty in Pink

I can't think of any more, but I know there are a bunch.

Maribel: I love Michael Caine in Cider House Rules, well, I like him whenever he appears...and that movie is very good. Did you read the book by John Irving?

Len: i like very much Wings of Desire too. But, the last things I've seen from WW are far, far, far away from those movies, I'm talking of the Million Dollars Hotel or that movie he made with Antonioni, I don't know what happened to him. Lobotomy?

Fight Club. This is the only movie we own.

Any other Fight Club fans? I think Brad Pitt is a great actor, yes, very cute and I wouldn't yell at him for eating crackers in bed, but I really do think he is one of the best.

The ones few of you will recognize:
Zerkalo (aka The Looking Glass), Andrei Tarkovsky
La Strada, Federico Fellini
M, Fritz Lang
La Notte, Antonioni
A Child is Waiting, John Cassavetes
The Apartment, Billy Wilder
Irma La Douce, Billy Wilder
Ooh I could go on and on...

Some popular ones:
Terms of Endearment (I'm a huge Shirley MacLaine fan, as you can see above!)
The Killing Fields (because Dith Pranh is a friend and I'm obsessed with Cambodian history)

Can't hink of anymore and it's time for lunch anyway.

MamaOui and Greenfrogs, we should have a screening party. I thought it was brilliant--very frightening how fanatical a young girl's mind can be, isn't it? I clearly remember similar behaviors and feelings at that age, of course not to that extreme .

Has anyone else seen "Forget Paris" with Billy Crystal? I laugh until I almost pee my pants everytime I see the scene where the bird is stuck to her face.

I also love:

Parent Trap
Shrek
One Fine Day
Tommy Boy
Remember the Titans
That thing you do

(What a list of cheesy movies- I'm going to stop now before I embarass myself more...)
