I love her work!!! I once tried to find out how to get my son to be one of her models. However all her babies are usually from New Zeland ( I believe that is where she is from though my memory stinks and it might be someplace else! :LOL)

Wow pictures of cute little babies is :Puke? Not that you have to like her of course lol... just wouldnt ever have thought that about such a neat subject matter. I've had some calendars and stationary of hers for years, and I enjoy it.

Not pictures of babies ... but pictures of babies in weird outfits. :LOL

I love pictures of babies ... their tiny little selves are so beautiful. I dunno I've always felt that stuff like Anne Geddes was kinda tacky. It's also one of my biggest pet peeves ... it kinda weirds me out when people put their babies (and pets) in costumes.

I like Anne Geddes, or I did for awhile. I found some of the scenarios intriguing and beautiful, some not all that exciting.

I bought the Until Now collection which is out on my coffee table and regularly abused. My second baby reminded me of a child from that book, the baby bald eagle. Every time I looked at my daughter, I thought of that photo. So I went and found the picture in the book and read the little blurb. I discovered that the baby had drowned about 6 months after that photo was taken which really made me sad.

I'm more interested in the contrast photos that show a lot of skin. I was hoping I could take a photo of my newborn sleeping on the back of my nephew, but somehow I didn't think my nephew would go for that. I did get a photo of his huge hand and her tiny one, but his hand doesn't look that big in the photo.

I like some of the simpler photos but a lot of the costumes and props are way too much for me. Honestly after a while it gets old to see a baby in an overcrowded shot shoved into some obviously uncomfortable outfit. This could be partially due to seeing the images everywhere a few years ago.

same here.

I recently saw a cover of a calendar or book??? in the book store of a woman in a sheer outfit with a baby all curled up in fetal position inside the outfit as if she were pregnant. Does that make sense? I found it intriguing but felt sorry for the baby in that position.

The old ones with the sunflowers and roses, etc are cute. I think I liked her until i saw a pic of a whole punch of newborns in flower pots and i thought how uncomfortable those babies must be

LOL no ducking necessary! I re-read my post up there and I sounded snarky...so sorry. I understand what you mean about the over the top costumes sometimes. Simple really is attractive to me. The black and white shots she's done are breathtaking.

I honestly don't think if the babies were that uncomfortable they would be smiling so. I have taken pics of my ds in a bowl with a water pitcher next to him and he thought it was fun. I am not saying that is true for all of the shots but for the ones with the kids smiling I don't know that they are unhappy, kwim?

See now I have heard that she is very very good with the babies and waits long periods until they are asleep so that she does not upset them. I totally agree that a picture is not worth an unhappy baby.

I used to model when I was an infant and my mother told me that one time she took me to a shoot and the way the photog got me to smile was by waving a cookie in front of me, a cookie he had NO intention of ever giving me because he did the same thing to every kid at the shoot. Well the shot was had and mother grabbed the cookie from him and said " You didn't think she wasn't getting that cookie did you?":LOL

I don't care for her work and in fact some of it creeps me out. I was given a pic that had 3 or 4 "sleeping" babies with wings held by hands in white gloves and gowns. yikes!!

I love the naked little babies in a row, or in a sink - I think my mom has one like that. But I really dislike the ones with the babies in flower costumes, animal outfits, etc.,.

And there are these weird Anne Geddes dolls - which are babies in costumes. They are truly hideous. Someone gave one to DD and she is scared of it. So am I.

I don't really get the appeal of much of her work.

Some of her work looks a little creepy to me. I'm another one who doesn't really get the appeal of her work. I like natural pictures of babies. Hers are too Salvatore Dali-ish for me.

I don't recall any melting clocks or giant disfigured heads floating above the babies - I agree that her work is far from simple but dali-ish?

I am not that interested in her work. It COULD be interesting..it seems overproduced. The lighting is cheesy. If it had a more organic appearance I might lke it. But..I suppose it makes a lot of people happy....

The first time I saw a Geddes (babes in flower pots or something like that) I thought..."that's the creepiest thing I have ever seen".

I do like her black and whites/babies-in-hand pieces, tho.
