I hated that "exactly" song when i first listened to it, but it's really starting to grow on me and i find myself often singing it....

I thought of another that I like, less for lyrical composition and more for the upbeat spirit of it:
Groove is in the Heart by Deee-lite

I love "Proud" (theme song from The Biggest Loser)

What have you done today to make you feel proud?
It's never too late to try
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
You could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
What have you done today to make you feel proud?

Can't forget The New Radicals' "Get What You Give" - oh, I LOVE it!!!

But when the night is falling
And you cannot find the light
If you feel your dream is dying
Hold tight
You've got the music in you
Don't let go
You've got the music in you
One dance left
This world is gonna pull through
Don't give up
You've got a reason to live
Can't forget you only get what you give

This whole damn world can fall apart
You'll be ok follow your heart
You're in harms way
I'm right behind
Now say youre mine

Fly high
What's real can't die
You only get what you give

Also love (from the world's biggest secular humanist - go figure) "My Christmas Prayer" by BeBe Winans and Rob Thomas - so amazing... I can just listen to it over and over and over.

For those that grieve
God will bring comfort
Laughter will rapture there
This is my Christams prayer

See I pray that love will rule and reign
And I pray that time will rid the pain of this world
As we learn to trust and care
This is my Christmas prayer

I pray for you (Yes I know you do)
That you triumph and conquer
Poses the strength you need to bear
This is my Christmas prayer

For those in need
There would be plenty
And each other's burdens shared
Oh, this is my Christmas prayer

See I pray that love will rule and reign
And I pray that time will rid the pain of this world
As we learn to trust and care
This is my Christmas prayer, Oh

So let hope fill our hearts (Let's let hope fill our hearts)
Shine the light through the dark
All around the world
And everywhere
I will pray
This Christmas prayer

Merry Christmas Rob
Merry Christmas BeBe

And another odd pick from an atheist - Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up".

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

Tea Leaf Green's "Earth and Sky," by Trevor Garrod: Listen to them live, for free at http://www.archive.org (search music archive w/band's name). And anyone who doesn't know about archive.org should because it's a treasure!

I don't plant crops and
I don't build fences
I don't ride on railroads
And I don't dig trenches
I'm living in between
The earth and sky
I don't go to school
I don't go to churches
I don't visit graveyards
I don't know the purpose of 'em
I'm living in between
The earth and sky
Following phone lines
To good times and bad times
Under the starlight
Under the moon
Shining down on me
Shining down on me
I'd write letters
But i'd never send 'em
The post script on 'em
Is never ending
I'm living in between
The earth and sky
I'm living in between
The earth and sky

To me he's saying we don't have to do or be anything in particular, just be in the moment, and that's enough.

I played Wind Beneath My Wings at my Dad's Funeral and now I can't even listen to it without breaking up. But I'm EFTing those emotions so I can move into some positive space!

I gotta bump this thread! I need some new good-vibe music!

Here's what I can contribute to the list (I hope I'm not duplicating what someone else has already said):

Good Day Sunshine, The Beatles
This Is Your Life, Joe Cocker

OH! Here's one I'll bet is new: Overjoyed, by Christine Kane!

The midnight sky
all stars and black
like darkened glass and glitter
suggests that I move back inside
and wait for warmer weather

So here it's New Year's Eve again
and everything keeps changin'.
I raise my glass and toast the gods
in charge of rearranging.

All of the world
is designed
to remind you
All of the light
that you could find
is inside
Under all of the noise
what's it like
to be overjoyed?

In spite of daytime planners
higher standards
dreams defended,
there's not a single thing
that's turned out quite like
I intended.

And so you learn that holding on
is nothing less than panic
when big things fall apart
and hearts get that much more gigantic.

All of the world
is designed
to remind you
All of the light
that you could find
is inside
under all of the noise
are you scared
to be overjoyed?

It used to be
a race to see just who'd get there the fastest.
But this frozen night
it's only right
to consecrate the madness
All of the world
is designed
to remind you
All of the light
that you could find
is inside
under all of the noise
here's your chance
to be overjoyed.

So much of Christine's work is delightful and uplifting ... and often very funny! She also writes a helluva blog!

Now that I've poked y'all to wake you up and remind you about this thread ... what else you got?

Here's that "Stay the Same" song by Joey McIntyre.

Listen to it cranked up, and try not to smile or jump around!

Brett Dennen "Blessed" All his songs are SUPER positive!!

I welcome the sun,
the clouds and rain,
the wind that sweeps the sky clean
and lets the sun shine again.
this is the most magnificent life has ever been.
here is heaven and earth
and the brilliant sky in between.

blessed is this life
and I'm gonna celebrate being alive.
blessed is this life
and I'm gonna celebrate being alive

I dwell in the darkness
I live in the light
I sleep in the afternoon
and become the noise in the night
I trespass in temptation
suffered in sacrifice
but I awake each day with a new sunrise

blessed is this life, oh
and I'm gonna celebrate being alive
blessed is this life, oh
and I'm gonna celebrate being alive

"Pocket Full of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield

All of her stuff is really positive, check out "I wanna have your babies" too.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9uKyMu8cwg

lyrics:

I got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine.
I got a love, and I know that it's all mine.

Oh.

Do what you want, but you're never gonna break me.
Sticks and stones are never gonna shake me.

No.

Take me away: A secret place.
A sweet escape: Take me away.
Take me away to better days.
Take me away: A higher place.

I got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine.
I got a love, and I know that it's all mine.

Oh.

Do what you want, but you're never gonna break me.
Sticks and stones are never gonna shake me.
No.

I got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine.
I got a love, and I know that it's all mine.
Oh.

Wish that you could, but you ain't gonna own me.
Do anything you can to control me.
Oh, no.

Take me away: A secret place.
A sweet escape: Take me away.
Take me away to better days.
Take me away: A higher place.

There's a place that I go,
But nobody knows.
Where the rivers flow,
And I call it home.
And there's no more lies.
In the darkness, there's light.
And nobody cries.
There's only butterflies.

Take me away: A secret place.
A sweet escape: Take me away.
Take me away to better days.
Take me away: A higher place.
Take me away: A secret place.
A sweet escape: Take me away.

Take me away to better days.
Take me away: A higher place.
Take me away: A secret place.
To better days take me away.

Take me away to better days.
Take me away: A higher place.

The sun is on my side.
Take me for a ride.
I smile up to the sky.
I know I'll be all right.

The sun is on my side.
Take me for a ride.
I smile up to the sky.
I know I'll be all right

I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned, but Stand by Rascal Flatts. Makes me want to run, cry, leap, laugh, sing, scream, do SOMETHING.

You feel like a candle in a hurricane
Just like a picture with a broken frame
Alone and helpless, like you've lost your fight
But you'll be alright, you'll be alright

[Chorus:]
Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you're made of
You might bend, till you break
Cause its all you can take
On your knees you look up
Decide you've had enough
You get mad you get strong
Wipe your hands shake it off
Then you Stand, Then you stand

Life's like a novel
With the end ripped out
The edge of a canyon
With only one way down
Take what you're given before its gone
Start holding on, keep holding on

[Repeat Chorus]

Every time you get up
And get back in the race
One more small piece of you
Starts to fall into place
Ooohhh

[Repeat Chorus]

Music video

Not to mention the first time I ever heard this song was at a Rascal Flatts concert. A mentally handicapped boy , about 12-14 years old, a few rows in front of me had been sitting in his wheelchair for the entire concert. When this song came on, he stood up and clutched the railing, rocking and swaying through the whole song. Talk about powerful. Typing it now brings me to tears. Awesome.

This song puts me on a tropical beach, sipping pina coladas, and holding hands under an umbrella. I can feel the manifestations coming and coming!
