True. Though I do believe in the latter books he does get it right

Nope, nope, nope. Voldemor is how JKR pronounces it and how she intends is to be pronounced (I suppose the British would be more familiar with French-isms). But- I get the impression she isn't a stickler for it. Obviously she hasn't made a big point of informing the public and insisting people pronounce it correctly.

Hmmm, I don't know about the Voldemort pronuncation thing. I listen to the audio version a lot. I have the British version with Stephen Fry. He is absolutely wonderful. He says the 'T" in Voldemort too. I can't imagine it any other way now.

Oh, me neither. I tried saying Voldemore for a while when I was reading to dd, and it just didn't stick. I'll see if I can find where JKR said that about LV.

========================
From the bottom of the page, HP Lexicon

"In an interview with The Orange County Register on 26 October 1999, ("Enchanted with Potter Literature: Fans line up for hours to get their books signed" by Valerie Takahama), Rowling responded this way to the question of pronouncing Voldemort's name:

"Is it Voldemort?" "Or Voldemor?" someone asked about Harry's evil nemesis.
"I say 'Voldemor' but I'm the only one," Rowling, who's from Edinburgh, said with a slight Scottish burr."

But Voldemort doesn't control Azkaban. That makes no sense.

Did they show Azkaban in PoA?

No ... I was just being silly. And no ... they didn't show it in PoA ... they showed the inside (Sirius' cell, if I'm remembering correctly) but not the outside.

Hm. Is that still supposed to be somewhere in the North Sea? Interesting. I'm reserving judgement.

Dunno. Maybe its a magically created "waterfall" in the North Sea ... kind of like the myth of the Norway Maelstrom.

Poor Haldir! Aragorn the Greasy gives him a big hug and musses his perfect hair. Then he gets it in the back at the Battle of Helm's Deep.

So how do I transistion this back to HP? I know. Ian McKellan who played Gandalf was in David Copperfield with Daniel Radcliffe. Or, Orlando Bloom/Legolas was in Pirates of the Caribbean with Geoffrey Rush/Captain Barbosa, who was in Taylor of Panama with Daniel Radcliffe.

Just saw this on the news right now ... somebody has made a matchstcik sculpture of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It apparently took 602,000 matchsticks and 15 gallons of carptenter's wood glue to build. Who has that kind of time!? :
