Sorry, but Steel Magnolias doesn't count. That is an EXCELLENT movie! The cemetary scene was Sally Field's greatest moment. Simply amazing.

I loved 300 - I just saw it this week.

I'm only on page 3 so maybe this has already been mentioned, but if you're talking Johnny Depp you have to throw in Don Juan DeMarco!

Oh, sorry, I was having private moment...

I showed that movie to my ballet company years ago and was informed that I am not right in the head. I already know this. What does that have to do with anything?

Legend - have the DVD

Anything to do with Highlander....

One that hasn't been mentioned yet, but really should is Labyrinth with Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie. "And I'll be there for yooo-oo-ooo as the world falls dooowwwn......."

Romancing the Stone!! I can't help it, I just love it. It's got adventure and romance and the main character really comes out of her shell. Ok, Michael Douglas, not terribly attractive, but I love the character he plays. I can watch it again and again and I never get sick of it.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned this before in 7 pages of thread!!

Yellowbeard!!

This movie had a bunch of the Monty Python cast, Cheech and Chong, and so many other funny people, not to mention, it was Marty Feldman's last movie. He died of a heart attack while filming. So horrible, but so hilarious.

I knew my DH was the one when he could quote as much of the movie as I could. :

I also like a good many of the films previously mentioned, too. There's just too many to list. But I refuse to believe "Labyrinth" was a bad movie! Blasphemy!

Love all of these! I would also add to that list the following John Candy movies: only the lonely, uncle buck, who's Harry Crumb, Summer Rental.

I LOVE John Candy and Chevy Chase! I wore out our VHS copies of Uncle Buck and Summer Rental from watching them so much!

How did I miss this thread?

My two all-time favorite movies - I can recite them completely and I'm proud of it!
Real Genius (Val Kilmer)
Better Off Dead (John Cusack)

oh, and speaking of sci-fi: Krull With Liam Neeson in a supporting role.

Plus Bridget Fonda doing interpretive dance to DIXIE and Annabeth Gish and Buzz Ravenel in the shag contest!

Awesome!
"Maybe in one of your better dreams" has to be one of my all-time favorite come-back lines. Pass me a bevo.

I heart Night of the Comet!!

And the bag is over my head for Grease 2. I just watched it tonight even. The singing is so bad that they all had to be echo-ey to make it listenable.

I was going to say Real Genius too, but I looked it up on allmovie and it got a 4 1/2 star rating, so I figured maybe it wasn't so bad after all.
