What are some suggestions. It doesn't have to be ABOUT breastfeeding, but just some that show babies nursing rather than, or at least in addition to, taking bottles. I have the Dr. Sears sibling book. But so many ONLY show bottle feeding (I'm thinking of the Thirsty Baby, which I read to DD last night).

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

We have a book, geared to the younger crowd, called "We Like to Nurse", it's cute and it shows animals nursing which my children always have adored.

Biggest Bed in the World, I believe, has a page or two with the mom nursing. And it's about a huuuuuge family bed! It was one of my dd's favorite books when she was a toddler. I read that thing over and over

Only the Cat Saw by Ashley Wolff. My kids loved this book.

Crunchy check list:  2 homebirths (one accidental UC!), co-slept, no CIO, cloth diapers, home/un school, raw milk drinker (!) I am a walking cliche!! I even blog and knit...

A Teeny Tiny Baby by Amy Schwartz. It is a sweet book about a little baby and shows the mom nursing in the middle of the night.

We like the book Everywhere Babies by Susan Meyers - it is certainly not ABOUT breastfeeding, but it mentions something along the lines of "everyday, everywhere babies are fed. by bottle, by breast, by cup and then spoon......" It also shows a mother nursing her baby and talks about how babies are carried in slings, frontpack carriers, etc (although also mentions car seats and strollers). I like that it shows the many different ways to "be" a baby.

Another one is The Best Gifts by Marsha Skrypuch and Halina Below. This one isn't about nursing specifically either though it mentions it as one of the best gifts and has a picture of a baby nursing on the front.

Here's a BIG list of books that I found on amazon.com that are geared toward babies and toddlers who are nursing:

1. The Wonder's of Mother's Milk
2. We Like to Nurse
3. Breastmilk Makes My Tummy Yummy (my girls love this book)
4. Maggie's Weaning (a true story about weaning for toddlers)
5. Nursing Baby
6. I'm Made of Mama's Milk
7. My Very Breast Friend (a book about the emotions of weaning)
8. The Best Gifts
9. Mama's Milk (shows different animals nursing their babies)
10. If My Mom Were a Platypus (shows animals and a human nursing their babies)
11. Look What I See! Where Can I Be? In The Neighborhood (good also for a toddler who uses a sling)

I have some of the books off of this list and they are excellent (I have #'s 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, and 10) to read to a baby or toddler. Emma and Angela really like the rhyming board book "Breastmilk Makes My Tummy Yummy", saying that its funny to read.

Hope this helps you. Most of these books are low priced for new copies and really cheap for used copies.

I have made the book I wrote for my children about homebirth available as a freebie in my store. It discusses breastfeeding and has pictures, but it's mostly geared for homebirth. But hey, it's free :-)
