I have no idea what we should use! What was yours (the song you walked back up the aisle as a married couple to)?

Arrival of the Queen of Sheba.
Though I thought it would look odd to have "arrival" printed in the program since it was the recessional.
My Dad (a classical music fanatic) suggested I call it the Fanfare for the Queen of Sheba. So I did.
Whatever. I loved it-and it was played beautifully by the string quartet we hired.

: I have no idea! Actually, I don't think we had anything played since we got married in the park. I think we just joined our guests.

True Story: My mother REALLY didn't want me to play Star Wars music for my processional so I told her we chose this instead. I never intended on playing anything but Star Wars (The Throne Room) music, but I am such a nerd that I actually found music I would have played if not for Star Wars.

Anyway, to answer the original question. We played "The Raiders Theme" from Raiders of the Lost Ark (my partner is an archaeologist).

This is terrible, but I can't actually remember. I know it was Bach and it was either "In dulci jubilo" or "Sheep may safely graze." I was the one who picked all the music. Once my original plan fell through (Parry's arrangement of Blake's "Jerusalem" -- I couldn't find anyone to sing it.), I went with Bach since our processional was Petzold's "Minuet in G Major" which is often attributed to Bach.

If I could go back in time, I would change the recessional music. The processional was perfect but the recessional just didn't work that well.

A modern church song- "We will dance" I think it's by David Ruis done instrumentally followed by Coltrane's version of "Favorite Things" (we did a lot of hugging and kissing of our guests back down the aisle)

It was the traditional recessional that folks have instead of "Joyful, Joyful..." I think. Honestly, I'm not sure that I ever discussed it with the pianist. She might have been playing "Who Let the Dogs Out" for all I know. I DO know that one of the songs we had sung beforehand was "Wild Horses" by the Stones. Nothing like a song about leaving your kid behind and/or a woman being unfaithful to really put you in the wedding spirit.

I love the idea of "The Long and Winding Road."

Toccata from Widor's Organ Symphony No. 5

It rocked. Dr. Konzen could play the crap out of that organ.

Widor's Toccata no. 5 here, too! It was a blast -- we flew up the aisle -- and everyone applauded the organist!

I know! It made us want to leave the church and go storm a castle or something.

A big-band style song called "I'm With My Baby Tonight" written for us by the best man (he's a very talented musician). It was perfect!

We were married on Halloween and had a costume reception so to get the guests in the mood for the coming frivolity we used The Funeral March of the Marionettes (the Alfred Hitchcock theme).

"How Sweet it is (to be loved by you)" James Taylor

I needed the shelter of someone's arms and there you were
I needed someone to understand my ups and downs and there you were
With sweet love and devotion
Deeply touching my emotion
I want to stop and thank you baby
I just want to stop and thank you baby

How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you

I close my eyes at night
Wondering where would I be without you in my life
Everything I did was just a bore
Everywhere I went it seems I'd been there before
But you brighten up for me all of my days
With a love so sweet in so many ways
I want to stop and thank you baby
I just want to stop and thank you baby

How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you

You were better for me than I was for myself
For me, there's you and there ain't nobody else
I want to stop and thank you baby
I just want to stop and thank you baby

How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you

-Rachel
