I haven't checked in in a LOOOOONNNNGGG time. Busy with the baby, my big boy and my part time job. Just wanted to do a quick New Years shout out though! MDC was such a huge part of my life for so long I don't want to lose ties completely. O will be 8 months this week! wow I have no idea where the time goes. He is an amazing baby and I am so grateful to have him in my life. I hope that all of you ladies are doing well and hopefully someone remembers me from my more active days on here. Peace to all!

Hi Jen! Glad to hear you all are doing well. WE have good and bad spells of sleep here too, it seems to coincide with major developmental stuff.

Brittney - awww, he is so handsome!

Red Jen and Booby Jen - Since you just had kids, I know that these months are going so quickly for you. They are going pretty fast for me too. The holidays help things go quickly and I have a bunch of deadlines that I must meet so it is helping distract me from the inevitable. That I've reached viability and now it is up to me to make sure I continue to feel this one move. My anxiety level will slowly rise over the next couple of months. But, I'm going to *try* to keep it in check.

Amy and khoasat - how are you guys?
khoasat - I saw your u/s is this morning, hope all is well.

Britt- your little baby is goregous!!!!! Enjoy him!!

D - I understand your anxiety. Just try to enjoy this time though! I know with Jack I spent so much time being scared, anxious and just wanting him to be born alive that I did not enjoy my whole Pg as much as I could have!

Take care!!!

Question for you all

Jack's feet and hands are purple. They are not cold. I called my Ped and am waiting for someone to call back. I have looked it up but it goes from it is nothing to really bad stuff.

Any of your babies have this issue? Jack is 5 months old and other than GERD has been really healthy. Thanks for reading this.

Take care!!

I'm not sure either, Jen. Elias was red for the longest time. Like he came out purple/red. The ped had said it was just circulation and such. He did grow out of it, but it's odd when your baby looks like a Skittles

Britt Your little man has the most precious lips! He's just gorgeous. I can't wait to have a squishy baby again

Amy Good to see you & hear about O!

I guess time really does fly by for each of us. I'm having a hard time enjoying, but knw that I need to as this is most likely our last baby. I can't believe I'm still so nauseous at almost 12 wks! But I'll take it, the good, bad & ugly

Thanks Ladies. It was his circulation. His system is not completely settled yet since he's still little. We have to watch him though, our Ped said if he stays purple despite us rubbing his feet or changing his position, then come right to the Hospital. We also have to make sure his lips, gums or cheeks do not turn blue or purple either.

Have a great weekend!!!

HHheeeeyyy...I can post here now! Hello! She's 8 days old today and just a little boob monster - she had her first checkup yesterday and actually came in at just a hair under 8lb 2oz - that's a weight gain of 3oz from her birth weight in 7 days...

So yah, she know where da booby is!

I love my little cheeky baby XXX

I know - I can already feel the time just slipping away! Actually in all seriousness I am totally planning the next one already. But not for at least a year, I reckon - give my body some time to heal and chill out, and Bella some time to grow. But OMG seriously, just hours after the birth I was thinking "can we do that again, please?"

A little part of me is mourning my pregnancy! Isn't that ridiculous? It actually might have something to do with Josie as well, since when she came out, she wasn't alive and then it felt like life had ended both inside and out. Maybe this feeling is a throwback to that. I need to keep reminding myself that my boobs and I are now a life source for my living baby! Lol!

All is going SO well though. We're co-sleeping because she breathes more easily that way and sleeps more soundly AND because I can't really bear to be not touching her...lol! The bonus of course, is that we both get more sleep that way, and night nursing is a much easier task.

So for the time being, her lovely new cherry wood crib is being utilized as more of a changing table and temporary entertainment location while mama gets tea or food or whatever. Other than that, she naps supported by a nursing pillow close to wherever I am... Attachment parenting: here I am!

Well I'm slowly resurfacing. I had loads of visitors at Christmas and had a tough time with the time of year, plus so much about Leo remind's me of Isabel.

Jay I feel exactly the same. I've already f orgotten how uncomfortabel I was at the end, I'm sad that I'm not working towards another birth. I seriously love giving birth. Another friend isgoing to borrow the hypnobabies course so I've spread the word to another.

I also cosleep because I just don't think I could bear to be away from him. When family were doing photos holding him I found it hard to see someone else hold him. Jay have you thought of getting a sleep positioner? Although I don't always get leo into his (he likes to always be touching me), it's at least another thing to prevent SIDS which is the next worry now he's out. THis past week and a half he's started being fussy and crying before going to sleep. It absolutly breaks my heart and every time takes me back to Isabel's last night with us. I keep reliving it and end up in tears a lot. I think I need to find some other women who've lost a baby to talk to people who've experienced this set of emotions. I've not even done his hand print yet because we never got round to it with Isabel and I almost feel if I didn't do something with her I shouldn't do it with him, like I was a bad parent last time and I should punish myself now.

Other than that I'm totally in love. I kiss him so much, and even squeeze him till he sometimes squeeks. We're part time ECing so I get peed on a lot less. Men are lethal with that thing.

We made it out at the weekend for a meal, Chinese buffet so I could feed whenever he needed, and if the food went cold I got some more.

Here's the little dude in his birthday suit. I love this pic.

Jen I saw the pics in your DDC, she looks fantastic.

Clare yes! I have a sleep positioner and it's been fantastic - really great! I've got one of those with two wedges on the side, and a little foam pillow with breathable holes and stuff - it's fabulous because it keeps her held so snugly! I am so glad you know what I mean about not being able to NOT co-sleep! I too fin myself envious of anyone else holding her...I get that "empty arms" feeling...

Right now her umbilical cord stump is falling off and earlier it bled a little, which made me SO antsy - I couldn't stand to see her bleeding. I'm so batty!

Oh my gosh I haven't been here is TOO long! So many congrats to the new mamas and MEREDYTH, are you preggo?! YAYAYAY! Anybody else that I missed?

Booby Jen, I can't figure out how to get to your pics! I bet Millie is a cutie.

Jen, do Jack's hands and feet look like that often? Could it be a slight heart issue, maybe a murmur or something? I would guess not serious though since he is thriving.

Amy, it sure does go by fast. I am shocked that Willem is a toddler now. That was the fastest, most wonderful year of my life.

Fazer and JayJay, I was the same way! Planning my next one just after having given birth and staying constantly attached to my new little one. Oh I just love that stage. We slept nose to nose for months. Now he sleeps with his head on my shoulder. He is still a sweet, cuddly, attached little guy. Or should I say big guy - He is now one year!

Working on getting the blog updated so I can share some recent pics....

BoobyJen I couldn't open your book, it said private. But my computers are angry with me, so I'll try again once my laptop is functional and not pms-ing I'm so happy to hear things are going so well with you guys, it makes my heart happy

AFM: I need to change my siggy, I'm 12 wks and some change. Almost 2nd tri - yay Been looking at houses like crazy and think I found one today, it's 4 bedrooms which we need, but the layout is a little wonky. There's an atrium in the middle of the house - like literally cut out of the middle! But it's everything we need with new hardwood floors. I'm a nut for hardwood Just such a task to move. But seeing how we gave notice here we are on the countdown. Have another one to see tomorrow, but it backs up to a canal and I'm a freak when it comes to unfenced backyards and bodies of water and pools. I know it's mostly in my head, but my biggest fear is one of the kids drowning. They can swim, but I'm still a freak about it. Anyways, that's about it. Thinking of everyone
