This is the September 2012 pregnancy thread for ALL graduates of the "hoping, healing & conceiving again" threads, or anyone who has suffered a loss and has found themselves expecting again.  Here we can discuss our concerns and problems in the safety and company of other mamas like us. Compare BETA results, our prenatal screens, show off our scans, and in what seems like a lifetime away - our newborn baby pictures.

If you are a new poster, just let me know your EDD, and I'll update at the start of each week. Due date calculator with luteal phase length.  Just as a reminder, please post any updates that you'd like the threadkeeper to add or change in Bolded Purple. ♥

We have a FB group for sharing whatever you'd like in a private setting. If you'd like to join, you can find us here.

Congratulations!!  :joy

Everyone's week will be updated tomorrow, and every Monday for the next 4 weeks. :)

Autumn- Glad someone else is getting their scan this week too.

Bailey- When is your appointment? Like Autumn, I wouldnt go alone.

Harmony- how are things going? How are you feeling now that you've gotten past the week?

Red- anxiously awaiting your update. How are those twins? Do you feel like you can tell who's moving and who's not?

AFM- Ladies, I NEED to learn how to knit. There is something I want- soooo badly.

Im really looking forward to this scan on Thursday because I want the level two tech to confirm two girls. I think Ive been holding out hope that my tech was wrong and that there is a boy in there, but I need to really get over that. Of course, Im terrified that they will find something wrong, but I cant let myself get worked up over that.

Adaline'sMama, Thanks for the new thread. smile.gif good luck with your scan, fingers crossed all goes well. I have my first one (the dating one) on Sept 13, 2 days after when I lost my little one last year so I am a little nervous about it. However, my mom flies in the next day so I am looking forward to that, and I figure if I do get bad news she will be here for 10 days.

Also now missing my rainbow baby angel1.gif who was due April 2013, but lost Nov 16 2012 at exactly 18 weeks.  Probably not trying again.

AM- I'll be 26 weeks on Monday, not 25.

Thanks for volunteering to run the thread again. Isn't it fun? =P

I have a Pinterest board full of twin photo ideas- http://pinterest.com/hippydippymama/newborn-twins/

My favorite is the one with the cowboy boots. I want to try and get my dad's cowboy boots up here to take pictures with them inside. And the one with them curled up in the mama's belly cast!

I can usually tell who is who. Thomas, twin B, is way up and to the right, and I feel his kicks up very high near my ribs and frequently get a hard lump that I'm pretty sure is his head near my belly button, or he'll stick his butt way out to the side. Gus is head down and VERY low and to the left, and his kicks are sort of in the middle of my belly. He's lying mostly straight up and down on the left, with his back to my back, and then Thomas is sort of lying diagonally in the space that's left on the right.

Shell- Good luck with your scan!! I'm glad you'll have someone to help out.

AFM- I'm doing alright. Having a lot of bad pelvic and SPD pain lately, and trying to sleep is awful. I'm starting to get rib pain now and I have this knot in my back that just won't quit.

Yeah, so I just stole about everything off your pintrest board and then spent another hour looking at the internet to pin other stuff. Before now, I had like two things pinned. http://pinterest.com/zollersfolley/twins/

Shell- That's so hard. Ill be thinking of you, make sure to remind us when we get closer to that date.

Thanks, Rose and AM smile.gif I am a little stressed about the scan but I think I'm more uneasy about having my routine doctor appt for the month on the 11th, the actual date of my miscarriage. The timing for both the appt and my scan are a little overwhelming, but I'll survive.

I think I'm going crazy, I feel like I am already starting to show (just 7 weeks now), it could just be bloating but DP agrees that he can see a difference. Is that even possible?? I mean I know the more pregnancies the sooner you show, but combine that with the fact that I have been soooo sick, and I'm kind of scared maybe there is more than one (there do seem to be a lot of twin mamas around right now lol).  Please tell me I am just losing my mind lol.

BTW AM, those hats are way too cute, if I knew how to knit I would be all over that.

Awesome....so I woke up this morning and am bleeding a little. I am freaked out and not sure what to do. No cramping, but being around 7 weeks it makes me worry a little about ectopic, and of course the kids go back to school tomorrow, so I need to be around and ok. I really don't know what to do.

Hi all:  My little rainbow Timothy arrived on August 23 :).  It was a difficult labor & delivery, but DH and my birth team did a great job of getting me through it.  Timmy is a delight - great nurser, sleeps well, calm and alert for several hours a day etc.  We are adjusting well as a family; however, knowing that Timmy is our last baby has been a bit difficult for me to process.  I've always wanted a DD, but it's just not in the God's plan for us.  I've had full chromosomal testing for two of my losses, and both were girls. Given that both DH and I have extremely boy-heavy families, I suspect that there is some sort of sex-linked genetic issue that keeps us from carrying female babies to viability :(.  Anyhow, DH and I are looking forward to watching our family grow up rather than out, and hope to possibly adopt a DD at some point in the future.

I'll continue to check in periodically to see how everyone is doing.  Here's to happy, healthy pregnancies and beautiful rainbow babies!

Update, I went to emergency since it's Labor Day and nothing is open. She did an internal, said my cervix is closed and all she could see was a little bit of brown blood, so no current bleeding. She said given that I have no pain, no active bleeding etc she thinks it's likely a "normal" bleed, but gave me a req form for an ultrasound for tomorrow. She said with everything I told her she highly doubts it's an ectopic, which was reassuring. She was very nice and compassionate, so tomorrow I will find out if there is a heartbeat or not...no more bleeding since this morning though.

On the way there though, Bambi tried to commit suicide by jumping out of the ditch into my car. I didn't even have time to brake. Thankfully for me and the car it was a small ish deer, and it only bent the living crap out of my hood. I couldn't open or close the hood, so I stopped at the only open mechanic I could find on the way home, and there was a man buying parts who pulled me aside and offered to have a look. He is also a mechanic, and he got it opened, straightened and fixed, all for just a coffee. Said everything else looks fine, so at least THAT was easily dealt with. No clue if Bambi survived, he took off but being a vet tech I know that means nothing, they can often run a bit while in shock so I hope he's ok.

Adaline'sMama, my DD was with me, it was about 5 mins before I dropped her off with our old sitter. Go figure it happened about 50 feet from the house I lived in for 10 years, drove that stretch of road every day, numerous times a day for years and never saw a deer in that part of it. Thankfully my DS was not with me, he would have bawled that we hit bambi, my daughter was pretty oblivious.

I will update everyone once I know tomorrow, I realized today that it was a year ago today that we found out our baby had no heartbeat (only I was 3 weeks farther along), so now I am kind of freaking out that tomorrow will be a repeat of that.

((Shell)) I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

I just hopped on to subscribe...it didn't even occur to me that there was a new thread. Then again, I had completely finished two loads of laundry yesterday without adding any detergent, so my brain has officially left the building.

Thanks, stegenrae and camo smile.gif It just feels all too familiar, but we'll get through it regardless of outcome, we always do. I am having very mild crampiness tonight, but I've had that on and off since I got my BFP, so I don't know that it's anything to be concerned about.

Also, congrats Soul-O!

Rae I hear ya on the lack of a brain thing, mine has been pretty MIA lately too. I put my keys in the fridge the other day, then spent half an hour freaking out because they weren't where they usually are.

So I updated on the FB group about this last Tuesday, but realized I hadn't posted over here...so here is what I posted last week...

"Please pray for me. Finally heard back from the midwife. She was actually calling me before she heard back from the doctor that she was consulting about the ultrasound results. There IS a healthy baby with a heartbeat where it should be in my uterus. I also have a luteal cyst that is most likely the cause of the pain I have been having in my side.

But they also saw an unexplained mass in/near one of my ovaries which is concerning. They want me to go back for another ultrasound next week to see if it is growing. Best case scenario is that it won't grow and they will be able to deal with it once I have the baby. Worst case scenario is that it grows and could be of concern and they will have to do an MRI to determine what is going on...which won't be so good for my tiny baby. Please pray hard that it stops growing or even dissolves and disappears before I go back for the ultrasound next week!! I am pretty scared!! After all I went through last year I REALLY don't want something to happen that could endanger my so far healthy little one!!"

So, today I called and am now waiting to hear back from the midwife as to when they want me to come in for an ultrasound and then an appointment...and if they want any more betas done (since I have now been on progesterone, folic acid, and baby aspirin for a week now). My HCG went from 27,887 on 8/24 to 35,000-something (don't have exact number) on 8/26...and they had me do another beta on 8/30 (but they didn't let me know yet what the levels for that were). My progesterone went from 11.8 on 8/24 to 12.5 on 8/26 (which is why I am on progesterone supplements now, since it is a bit low)...and again, I don't have the numbers for 8/30 yet.

A weird thing that happened today...My alarm went off to remind me to take the stuff I need to take at 9am...so I took a prenatal, a folic acid, and then a progesterone. The progesterone they have me on is a compounded one that I take orally...so basically a white powder in a capsule. About a minute after I took it, I burped really big and white powder came puffing out of my nose!! Now my nose tickles and won't stop running!! Should I be worried, or just chalk it up as a silly pregnancy thing?!!

Thank you, ladies smile.gif Ultrasound showed the baby to be measuring exactly where it should be, 7w4d, with a heartbeat of about 120. She could see absolutely no cause for the bleeding, and the weird "thing" on my left ovary (they found it last year when I was going through the pregnancy/miscarriage and determined it to be endometriosis, but I still call it the weird thing lol) has not changed at all in a year so that is good.

I should feel relieved, but I don't. This is how it all started last year, so I feel like I'm just waiting for the worst. Had a little more red/pink streaked bleeding after the t/v ultrasound but I would think that is probably pretty normal.

So yet again I find out that a family member is pregnant at the same time as me!!

With Riley, I was pregnant at the same time as my sis M and my sis-in-law D. M and I both lost our babies really early (5wks) and D made it to about five months before losing her little girl.

Then with Paisley, my sis-in-law K and I were due two days apart...and she was able to have her little boy this spring. Needless to say, it is hard to see her little boy without thinking of Paisley. I think seeing Maverick is the hardest because Paisley actually made it the furtherest of all three of my losses.

Then with Waverley, my baby sis R was due within a week of me...and she had her little boy Raylan a couple months ago. I haven't even seen him yet except for a couple FB pics, but it will probably be a bit difficult as well.

Now I find out my sis-in-law D is expecting again and just a few weeks behind me. I really do hope and pray that both of our little ones make it because no matter what, if only one of us ends up with a healthy baby, one of us will be heartbroken yet again. With her two losses and my three...any other outcome besides two healthy babies would just be too hard!!

Shell, glad things are looking good so far!  I can imagine it must be hard, though.  So hang in there!  Hugs!

Thanks, Beingmommy and coffee.

I wish I could say that I was hopeful/relieved, but it just feels way too much like last year. If I can make it past 12 weeks (that's when I finally miscarried last year) then maybe I will relax a tiny bit.

My lower back is super achy tonight, making me think the worst. greensad.gif

Rainey, that's wild. Fingers crossed for you and your sister in law.

Shell, I am proof of hope (so far).  I bled from 6 weeks to 12 weeks... sometimes bright red with clots even!  And babe still has a heartbeat at 13 weeks!  I'll be thinking of you.  I know the waiting is hard during the early weeks.  ((HUGS))

Thanks, Jodie smile.gif I feel so incredibly crappy right now, ready to throw up and achy lower back, I just want to cry. No cramps, but I know back pain like this can mean the same thing.

Shell I had some back ache scare this weekend and I was feeling really pessimistic. I was ready to write off the pregnancy. I know for me it is extrememyl strange to feel good in pregnancy and not bitchy, sick, and wanting to hide under the blankets and eat cheetos, and I have been having a decent amount of energy, no sickness, no real cravings other than milk and coffee tastes badly to me, which is normal for my pregnancies. I spent most of the day today playing telephone tag with nurses to see if I can just have my beta rechecked tomorrow instead of an u/s (at 5 weeks) which I am sure will tell us/me nothing about viability. I just know that seeing a circle inside of a circle in my uterus on the screen and having my doc hemm and haw over what he thinks it means just wouldn't do anything except make me obsess. Anyway, I finally got scheduled for a beta tomorrow and am now feeling very optimistic because my normal pregnancy migraines have started and my boobs are feeling heavy and sore! Yay! It's nice to have some definite symptoms. I am convinced since I am feeling good and not crappy but still having symptoms that everything is going well and that I am having a boy. DH is convinced it is another girl (cuz we have had 2 so now he thinks he can't make boys haha). I hope I have good news from my beta tomorrow. I think it is suppose to be over 3000. According to beta base the average for my DPO is 3424 and I have been right on track for their averages so far.

FX for Shell and Bailey!

I think I'm finally starting to feel better. Which is great, and also scary. Can't wait to start feeling regular movement. And to get the blood test results back from my 12-week visit.
