January 2013 Thread

This is the February 2013 pregnancy thread for ALL graduates of the "Hoping, Healing & Conceiving Again" threads, or anyone who has suffered a loss and has found themselves expecting again. Here we can discuss our concerns and problems in the safety and company of other mamas like us. Compare BETA results, our prenatal screens, show off our scans, and in what seems like a lifetime away - our newborn baby pictures.

If you are a new poster, just let me know your EDD, and I'll update at the start of each week. Due date calculator with luteal phase length.

Just as a reminder, please post any updates that you'd like the threadkeeper to add or change in bold.

We have a FB group for sharing whatever you'd like in a private setting. If you'd like to join, you can find us here.

Congratulations!! joy.gif

Hi ladies :) I am back... hallelujah!! I will be 6 weeks tomorrow (Sat), expecting #1 after 2 losses, EDD September 28, 2013. I have been so hesitant to join in because I'm terrified, but since I got my MTHFR diagnosis I've been doing many things differently - better vitamins, baby aspirin, progesterone, and lovely Lovenox shots nightly. I had solid first betas (no repeats) and have my first u/s on Feb 11. I am so excited, and glad to be back here with you all!

Married my best friend 05.09.10, welcomed our darling daughter on 10.01.13!

Thanks for the new thread coffee! Hey, why are you "in our thoughts?" I actually notice that a few people are in multiple places - they probably haven't asked to be updated.

Well, I think it was because I was on this thread two other times and then lost the babies. So they put me there. Maybe I should take myself off?

We moved from Colorado to North Carolina about 2 months after Kamryn passed in 2006, then moved from North Carolina to South Carolina in 2012 after Oliver passed.  Even though it's not the "reason" for the move it's still very common to want to start fresh <3   Maybe they can look at it like this, you'll be in a new place where they can vacation :)

Oh and Coffee, I don't really think you should be "removed" from the list unless that's what you're comfortable with, but if you are then YAY!! and we're so glad that your bean is doing so well !!

Maybe since this is the rainbow thread there could be a special spot for angels too. Idk. You don't have to move yourself if you don't want to Coffee. I just noticed you were in multiple places and wondered why since that seems to be the place for the ladies who take time away. Lol. Ignore me. Lol

Thanks for the new thread, Coffee!  I am actually only at 17 weeks right now (my change day each week is Friday so I think at some point I got bumped ahead a week).  I am in the "In our Thoughts" section too and I think it's nice to stay there, if no one minds, because it is a place where the baby I lost in June is remembered (at least for me)

J and J's Mommy, so glad your news was met with good support and excitement!

Congrats, Sarah!

Happy Monday ladies!

Hey PATTIMOMMA!!! I stalk you on the other threads too. How are you?!?!

I am SO nauseous lord. I've been on this B^ and unisom and it's making a WORLD of difference.. but I just can't seem to shake the little bit of nausea that I have. I admitted this with my last pregnancy - nausea makes me depressed. Like - I get sad because there seems to be NOTHING I can do about it. The entire time I was't pregnant - I dreaded the nausea part of my pregnancy. But then on days when it seems to go away - I panic that something might be wrong with baby. I am a MESS. I guess I won't be any good until I have my NT scan on the 27th. It seems like forever away - but at least it's Feb now. I have my doppler from last time - but I can't usually find a HB until after week 10 because of my tipped uterus. Besides, this baby seems to register a few days behind the last baby for EVERYTHING: later positive test, lower HCG numbers, lower heartbeat, etc. My guess is a boy - but we won't REALLY know until baby comes out. The hubs doesn't want to know the sex before birth. I like surprises.

I'm finally 9 weeks. I have set goals in my head: I'll be so glad when I'm 12.. and then 18 because I was shy 1 day last tim), then 24 because of viability and then 28 because my doc says if I make it to 28 I should be golden and then 36 because that's full term and my MFM really wants to deliver me then, then 38 because that's the longest they'll let me be preggers. I'm going to change my ticker to reflect these milestones.

*fingers crossed* Looks like I FINALLY stopped spotting. I've had 3 days with nothing.. but I laid around a lot this weekend - so it's possible I'll have some today since I'm up and about. I've been spotting since January 9th!

hey everyone! I talked to my OB's nurse today. They still don't plan to see me until I am 8 weeks. Things so far are going well. I am nauseated and my breasts are SUPER tender (and I swear they have already grown a size). I know worrying does no good at all but I can't get past the feel that every time I feel any twinge I am worry I am losing it, and I dread going to the restroom for fear I will find blood. Glad to find a group that understands.

Hello MommaMeggles. You're in good company. I worry a lot. I just hit 9 weeks today and I'm not sure I'll ever feel "safe" in this pregnancy. Keep us posted on your appt.

Thebyr, I love that you updated your ticker to reflect the milestones you are looking at!  I may do that too.  I also have ones in my head. Like my 20 week u/s when I hope to see our SCH has resolved.  And then 24 weeks for viability.  I had been thinking 30 weeks for pretty good survival chances but 28 sounds good too!  Then I was thinking 37 because then I could  do a midwife birth if I remain low-risk.  I hope your spotting stays away! I stopped spotting last Monday evening, and it's been almost more anxiety provoking wondering if I will start again. It's like before I was just defeated with the constant bleeding but now I am am hopeful and hope makes me more vulnerable.  Ug.  I had a tiny bit of brownish mucus last night but nothing since then so I am hoping it was just a fluke.  I SO want this SCH to just go away.  I am a mess too, I've started worrying about something being wrong with the baby lately.  I hadn't earlier because I was so focused on making it through the 1st trimester and the SCH.  But now I worry.  The anatomy scan worries me.  It's so hard being a PAL mom!

MommaMeggles, I really feel you on the fears!  This is defintiely a great group for sharing and finding understanding for it.  Sending vibes for peace for you.  And  good first visit.  When is your 8 weeks visit?

Lol. Ditto everything you said Beingmommy. I was so focused on spotting and potential m/c that when it stopped I started panicking about cleft palates and Down syndrome. We are a mess! I hope your SCH is all gone! I like your milestones too. It just kinda makes sense, right?

Thebyr, I am such a mess!  Bleech.  I just had a little more brownish mucus.  I am trying to hope it is just the last bits of the SCH stuff still inside but I am also worried it means things are ramping up again.  PLUS, I am now having a major back cramp on the right side. I sometimes get referred pain there from uterine cramping so, basketcaseland for me now.  Sigh.

I DO love the special milestones.  Yay!

Thanks writinglove - HUGS all around.

Beingmommy - I had to go back and spellcheck my last post. I did it on my phone and it turned out terribly!

AFM - I finally found baby's HB on my doppler!!! Baby is higher than I thought and apparently has a TON of space to move around because I tried when I got home from work and only got 3 secs of heartbeat. I decided to distract baby with a warm shower and try again - this time I got a full 10 secs. Baby's HB was 147 bpm! I was too excited to remember to take a pic or record it. LOL. Couldn't find it again so I gave up. I'll try again in a a few days. I was just excited to know baby was in there movin about and growing. Sometime this week I need to go have my blood drawn for my NT scan happening on the 27th. I really have a few weeks to get it done - but if I put it off.. I might just forget! Preggy brain is a beast.

Thebyr - yayyy for the good HB and that baby sat still enough for you to hear it. :) I cannot wait until the day I can pull out the ole doppler just to listen to that sweet sound.

I love the milestone ticker as well!! :) That is a great idea. This early in my pregnancy I consider everyday that I am still pregnant to be a milestone - but I'm hoping that will ease up when I reach my first big milestone, a heartbeat. Our appointment for u/s is on Monday, a week from today, and I can hardly wait. I've been looking for ways to keep busy so I don't spend all my time researching MTHFR/lovenox pregnancies (you know how dangerous researching can be online to a worry wart). Turns out Downton Abbey is quite a good distraction!!

hello thread keeper

i noticed i should be 15 weeks, EDD 7/26/13. no biggie

Are dopplers and other technology to hear heartbeats etc safe for the baby? i just think radiation! i was thinking about getting a used item to hear heart rate but i think it would just make me paranoid and crazy. i have an awesome kid baby consignment shop walking distance from my house and have seen heart rate detectors there. i am really popping out since announcing we are preg. holding onto the energetic non-cumbersome weeks i have left. NESTING!

2/6 realtor comes to take pics of the house(we want to relocate to NC after baby is born--very hard logistically/insurance, etc to figure out)

2/11 i have group for child loss-FINALLY, its been months, also have labs

2/18 next ob appt-finally
