This is the March 2013 pregnancy thread for ALL graduates of the "Hoping, Healing & Conceiving Again" threads, or anyone who has suffered a loss and has found themselves expecting again. Here we can discuss our concerns and problems in the safety and company of other mamas like us. Compare BETA results, our prenatal screens, show off our scans, and in what seems like a lifetime away - our newborn baby pictures.

If you are a new poster, just let me know your EDD, and I'll update at the start of each week. Due date calculator with luteal phase length.

Just as a reminder, please post any updates that you'd like the threadkeeper to add or change in bold.

We have a FB group for sharing whatever you'd like in a private setting. If you'd like to join, you can find us here.

Thanks for the new thread, TheByr!!

Harmony, what a sweet little smile! That is one happy baby. Makes me smile! orngbiggrin.gif

Hope you're all having a good week!

AFM things are going well. Tired, slightly nauseous still, mostly at night. We told our families the big news after our last u/s, they are all thrilled. I am the oldest in my generation in my family, and this is the first baby of the 'new' generation, so it's a big deal for everyone! Quite exciting! Looking forward to announcing to the world in a few weeks... scheduled our NT scan for March 18! Woop woop!

Yep, that's how Camden's nub or bottom area looked too and after ALL these ultrasounds we are SURE he's a boy.  I can't believe tomorrow is the start of a new month ladies, thanks for the new thread.  I think I'm going to get myself a blizzard from DQ I'm feeling mighty nauseous from dinner so it's a toss up but my bones are hurting again :(.  I'm thinking of going tomorrow to Joanne's to get some more flannel fabric for the cloth diaper/burp rags i'm doing while it's still on sale.  It was $2.50 a yard and I'm only getting 1/2 yard of each.  Plus I always make our babies a soft cuddly blanket and I'm feeling ready to start Camden's now, so I need to grab the fabric for it.  I despise driving to Savannah though UGH but there's not one closer to me.

Thanks Thebyr and thank goodness it is March!

J&J: According to the groundhog we only have two more weeks of winter! Can you handle two more weeks?

I am super excited because tomorrow is grocery shopping!!! Let's hope I don't blow our whole budget on the first day again this month...luckily we started getting WIC so that should help me space out my spending. For some reason being really thrifty excites me.

LOL.. Thanks for your guesses ladies. I sure hope this is a boy. Of course - I'll love a girl NO less... but I'd be so excited if this were a boy.

I have a love hate relationship with March. Monday (the 4th) is the day I went into pre-term labor last year. I basically missed March and April last year. Totally ignored it and lived in my dark house. I actually HATED the sunshine because it was the TOTAL opposite of how I felt. I'm trying to be better this year. I took Monday off and I plan to go to coldstone and get a milkshake. I haven't had one since the week before my loss last year. I'm really excited. I'm really ready for spring though.. so I'm glad March is here - I used to LOVE this month. I hope we can love each other again.

Suzie - Nausea womps. Mine is still VERY terrible and I'll be 13 weeks on Monday. I really don't see an end in sight - unless it will taper off around 20 weeks. March 18th is my dad's b'day - I'm excited for your NT scan.

lol J&J - I can't take 2 more weeks either!

TDE - YAY! Have fun shopping tomorrow. I love being thrifty too - especially when buying good food.

Tenk - so thrifty - I love it. That's a really great deal on fabric. That blizzard sounds good too... hmmmmmm... lol

Happy March to you too Shiloh!

AFM -

I'm going back and forth about asking my doc about this P-17 shot. I'm kinda freaked out that there was a 1.5cm fibroid at 12 weeks that wasn't there at 7 weeks. If it keeps growing at that rate - I could have another bout of an unstable uterus. Any of you ladies gotten the weekly P-17 shot? Feedback would be appreciated.

I had it this time since my water broke at 23 weeks last time. I had the shot from weeks 17 to 34. I didn't notice any significant side effects. Some other ladies who I've heard had it had headaches with it or were extra emotional, but all my side effects were localized to the injection site (including itching sometimes, burning sometimes, and a small lump most of the time). The effects would go away within a couple of days.

I don't know if it helped or not, since really the shot is primarily to prevent contractions, but when I was in labor, my water bag was so strong that they actually had to break it before I would progress past a 6. His head just wasn't putting enough pressure on my cervix to make it dilate when that bag was still there.

Thanks Harmony. That's what I was expecting to hear. I'd have to go into preterm labor again - just because my uterus decided to contract early. I heard that most of the time the side effects weren't that bad. I think I'd take them all for a chance at making it to full term. Thanks for sharing.

I was so excited to join a ddc after my bfp. I am finding myself triggered by the drop outs or threatened drop outs. I've been there. I feel it, but the other half of me wonders if someone else mc statistically they might be that % not me this time.

Congratulations Harmony!  What a cutie!!!

Sorry I wasnt around last month, I was too emotional and everything baby related triggered my anxiety.  BUT I had my 8 week ultrasound on Tuesday and this little seamonkey has a good strong heartbeat!  My loss was a missed mc discovered at the 8 week ultrasound, so I was terrified going in.  The tech knew how nervous I was and offered to try an abdominal ultrasound the moment I walked in and the little flicker immediately came up on the screen!  Baby looks great, measured 8w1d (dates 8w even) and had a heartbeat 179bpm!  :D  I am ecstatic.

I have been fighting severe all-freaking-day sickness.  I keep telling myself that every time I feel awful is another moment that the baby is doing well.  But, I wasnt eating at all it was so bad causing scary dizzy spells, so they gave me Zofran and I hated the side effects (not to mention the guilt because I want to do this as naturally as possible).  Now I have an rx vitamin called b-nexa which is working wonders.

So ladies, please tell me I am not insane.  I am not quite 9 weeks yet and I am ready for maternity pants.  At home I am wearing sweats and yoga pants, but going out I like to at least put on jeans and they are so tight!  I have lost weight, but it seems to all be rearranging.  I had to buy new, bigger, bras already and my mom ordered me my first pair of maternity jeans and I cant wait for the UPS man to show up!  I have heard that it is normal to start showing earlier when it isnt your first pregnancy, but I lost my only pregnancy at 9 weeks.  So is this crazy?  (and I tried the bella band thing - annoyed the crud out of me.  it rolled up, wouldnt stay put, not worth the hype)

My mom is just beside herself with joy - she's maybe more excited than I am, since the reality of our rainbow is still just setting in.  She surprised me yesterday with a delivery of our first package of cloth diapers.  I am an only child, and my child came to me at 9 years old, so this is the first "baby" grandchild.

Thebyr, if you had preterm labor last time then they should OFFER you the P-17 shots and if they don't you can certainly request them and they should happily agree to them.  A girl I am/was friends with delivered her last at 36 weeks and she's getting them weekly this time so she can carry to at least 37 hopefully 38.  I do have a friend, another loss mama, who delivered her 1st at 35 weeks, her 2nd at 28w5d and he passed at 2 weeks old, and her 3rd at 27w5d even though she was on the shots and he just came home from the hospital 2 days ago after spending 9 weeks in the NICU.  BUT he's home and totally healthy!!  I've already told my docs that I insist on getting the steroid lung maturing shots at 33 weeks or so just to make sure this guys lungs are good for delivery at 36 weeks.  And Lilah was born at 33w5d but I got the shots 2 and 3 days before she was born and that's the ONLY reason she didn't need oxygen.  I also had an amnio 4 days before she was born that showed NOT mature lungs so we proved those shots work ... now there's speculation that they don't work for maturing lungs .. again, I insist though.  Just tell them and I'm sure they'll do, be proactive/advocate for yourself :)

Harmony, how sweet is that baby!!!

TDE, enjoy  your shopping!!  I didn't make it to the fabric store because DH called and asked me to bring something to him at work :( BUT I did get my blizzard last night and it wsa super fattening and delicious.  Vanilla ice cream with reeses peanut butter cup pieces and bananas yummy.gif

Shiloh, when mamas lose their babies/pregnancies in my DDC I can't even bring myself to tell them "I'm sorry for or be gentle with yourself" etc because it feels like I'm only jinx'ing myself every single time.  Example:  While I was pregnant with Kamryn a lady (whose hubby worked with my DH) lost her very young infant and I commented that I could NEVER handle that and couldn't go to the funeral, Kamryn passed 4 months later.  The Duggar family lost their baby at 21 weeks and I commented how awful it was and I could never handle that, Oliver died at 18 weeks the every next week :( I am just too freaked out about those things to be comfortable with any of it and it seems the bad things always happen to me.  I always feel so bad but I just can't say it or put it into words.  Now I DEMAND ALL OF YOU HAVE PERFECTLY HEALTHY PREGNANCIES AND BABIES!!

MommaMeggles, don't be worried about needed loser pants already, it's totally part of it.  It's mostly bloat in the beginning BUT things start shifting and getting bigger right away.  My boobs were the first thing to grow this time (they only do this with my boys :) and just enjoy the fuller belly and everything that's happening and I'm SO GLAD you got to see your healthy bean!!!

Did I mention how much I love listing things on eBay, it's a bit time consuming to get the photos and get everything listed BUT now I just sit here and get emails of things selling :) and it makes me feel like I'm contributing a bit more AND DH told me today that even though he has complained about "keeping all these clothes" that he's now impressed that I took such good care of the maternity clothes and kid clothes and that it's working out for selling them now LOL men ?!?!

Dr called today, MaterniT21 is NEGATIVE for all chromosome abnormalities ... baby Camden does NOT have Down syndrome!!!  I'm so happy to get this news!!!

Thanks fantastic news!! Congrats smile.gif

I have a funny feeling that I may have lost this baby. Staring day before yesterday I've had no MS at all and my belly bloat has already decreased. This happened last time- lost my symptoms about 9 or ten weeks, and found out through US at 11 weeks that baby had stopped growing a few weeks earlier. I don't feel pregnant anymore. Maybe I'm wrong, and this is just me over thinking, but it doesn't feel like it greensad.gif

Jenny, I hope you are wrong. I know that anxiety can really mess with intuition, and so I hope that you are only feeling anxious. :-( I'm so sorry you're worried.

When is your next appointment? Could you say you're spotting so you get an ultrasound right away?

Jenny - I'm hoping your feeling is just anxiety as well. I had 2-3 days this week where my sickness was significantly better and my belly flattened out a little as well. I thought maybe it was just the nausea going away, but last night it showed up again. Maybe it is just your hormones beginning to fade away?? I sure hope so! Sending good thoughts your way. hug2.gif

Thank you, Sarah and Coffee. I hope so, too! I emailed my MW to see if its not to early to try to hear a heartbeat. I told her what was happening. I know it's not an emergency, so I didn't want to call or page, but now I'm obsessively checking my email hoping to hear back.

Aww, Jenny, I HATE that feeling.  If I go even a few hours without feeling Camden move I freak out and get my doppler out.  I also had a few episodes where my symptoms would seem to fade and I would be a basket case.  I hope it's nothing and that everything is going great in there mama!!

Thank you all for the the sweet words :)

I can relate, Tenk. I've been using the doppler a lot this week. I wish I could feel more secure in this pregnancy. Maybe later!!

Hurray Tenk! Thanks for the ebay love too!

Jenny, early in this pregnancy I had the same feelings. I would wake up thinking "the baby is dead" and have cramps and a decrease in symptoms. The first trimester is SO hard!

Shopping was awesome, I got my girl scout cookies AND my MIL took DD for the night so DH and I could go on a date (finally!). Now I am off to watch "The Walking Dead" and nosh on my cookies.

I pulled the plug on just aspirin..
Called the hemo. The veins are popping.
I'm not sure if I'm half relieved it happened early so heparin (?) Might prevent a mc from my thrombosis or save my life. I'm feeling old today.
First compression fitting at a place that sells old people stuff not facing my frail body and thinking I'm forming a stone. Ugh

8 might be enough

Nope, not crazy at all. orngbiggrin.gif I was EASILY showing by 8 weeks this time. I looked to be about 4 months pregnant. It was all bloat, but it never went away. Then, when I actually WAS 4 months pregnant, I looked....... 4 months pregnant. lol.gif: But I was showing so much that people who saw me at church were suspicious by about week 6 or 7. o.O

I have a doppler, and I heard the HB myself at just 8w1d this last time. I was mostly using it that early just to make sure it still worked since I had lent it to an out-of-state friend, so I was finding my femoral pulse on both sides. I wasn't even going to try to find the baby but then I thought, "eh, since I have it all out and set up, I might as well." And it was there! And I'm 1) not "officially" trained in doppler usage and 2) not a skin-and-bones body type, so I was totally surprised. I hope your MW can make some time to come and try to listen soon and you can be reassured and it's just normal anxiety and not something else. hug.gif:
