This is the April 2014 pregnancy thread for ALL graduates of the "Hoping, Healing & Conceiving Again" threads, or anyone who has suffered a loss and has found themselves expecting again. Here we can discuss our concerns and problems in the safety and company of other mamas like us. Compare BETA results, our prenatal screens, show off our scans, and in what seems like a lifetime away - our newborn baby pictures.

It's super dark today. I'm feeling better about this.

I called the Reproductive Health Centre and left a message about my BFP. They are supposed to call back by end of day tomorrow. But I am debating whether I should call my family doctor to make an appointment in the meantime. I guess I missed my opportunity for today.

I have been to the doctor twice and gotten blood drawn 3x. My doctor is being super hands off this pregnancy. No need to do a Pap test because I just had one in November. No need to do blood work because I just had a bunch done in February. He hasn't even gotten out the pregnancy due date calculator wheel or gone over the prenatal checklist. He has referred me for an 8 week ultrasound and sent me for hCG draws:

16 DPO: 627 (I was expecting 200-400, so this seems high, but not too high)

19 DPO: 2891, giving a doubling time of 32.65 hours. Wow! I was expecting 1800-2200 based on my first number.

21 DPO: 5801, giving a doubling time just under 48 hours. Great!

While these are all in the normal range, I worry that they are putting me into the multiple range. Overall, I feel good about this pregnancy getting off to a solid start. Of course I don't know what my numbers were early on in my other pregnancies. I do have my 21 DPO value for my first pregnancy (308--bad) and my second pregnancy (4274--good), but all my other reference points are much later. It makes me want to go again next week, but I didn't ask for anymore blood reqs. Oh well. 3 more weeks to ultrasound!

Wow! Your betas were even higher than mine! You are not having twins, are you?

My ultrasound is not going to be until May 22, at which point I will be at 10 weeks. So much for my 6-8 week ultrasound.

I will start a new thread for May this weekend, and I will update everyone on the front page. We will bring this thread back to life!

I'll probably c/p this into the May thread, too, but I took a belly pic today. About half of it is leftovers from my 16-month-old, but it's definitely already grown some from my before-pregnant state. There are some pants and stuff that I can't wear anymore (elastic waist even!) because of the slight discomfort over time. Pardon the spotty mirror. This is a 10-week pic.

I know I was so shocked to see them go up so high and so fast. :( aww that sucks I wonder why they are waiting so long to do your scan.

And idk if it's twins yet but I'll find out everything Friday I'll be 5 weeks 6 days and I'll update everyone. :)

It's just scheduling. I picked the busiest hospital to have my ultrasound because they are the best and I have had good experiences there and bad experiences at the other hospital. I knew it took longer to get an appointment there, but I thought that because my doctor submitted the request early (by 5 weeks) and specifically stated that I should be seen at 8 weeks, I would get in sooner, especially since it was doctors from that hospital who said I needed it done early. But I was wrong. And now it's too late to send the request to the other hospital.
