I was recommended this book by my son's counselor:Transforming the Difficult Child by Howard Glasser
I haven't even read it yet but it looks so AWESOME! I think it might be the answer to so many of my concerns. From what I've seen, the basic idea is choose a problem behavior (a violent behavior, a sensory behavior, whatever) decide on an appropriate replacement behavior, teach it to the child and set up a system to give positive reinforcement whenever they do the positive behavior.
Sounds great! I can't wait to get my hands on this book!
Has anyone else read it? What do you think of it?
