My four year old foster daughter has special needs, but is not yet diagnosed with anything. She has an MRI under sedation scheduled next week, and the sleep-deprivation EEG tomorrow morning.
Right now, she is sleeping twelve hours a night and it is like pulling teeth to get her out of bed in the morning. She is beginning to transition back home, where there is a four week old newborn so I doubt she is getting enough rest as it is.
Does anyone have experience keeping a young child awake through the night? The doctor says she can only have 3-4 hours of sleep prior to the test.
Any advice or ideas would be appreciated!greensad.gif

How does she respond to caffeine? Because that will keep my kids up every time.

If I gave them lots of caffeine and popcorn and movies, I could keep them up for a long time.

That was totally in my plan, however, we heard from the neurologist's office today and they said no caffeine, no chocolate!  Eeek!  My wife has her out at the movies right now, eating candy... then they are coming home to make cupcakes.
