My son has been diagnosed w/ADHD.  He had been on INTUNIV for 6 months.  We think he has become immune to it.  We are looking for a more herbal/organic supplement to help him cope. The doctor told us about Vayarin.  Who has tried this with a child young as 6 and what were the benefits?

I haven't even heard of it but will have to look it up.  My 7 yr old is on Focalin which works really well but I hate having to medicate him.

Wikipedia says:

"Vayarin is a once-daily formulation of phosphatidylserine-omega 3 compound, eicosapentaenoic acid-enriched, is a prescription medical food for the clinical treatment dietary management of certain lipid imbalance associated with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in children."

Vayarin

"It should be a rule in all prophylactic work that no harm should ever be unnecessarily inflicted on a healthy person (Sir Graham Wilson, The Hazards of Immunization, 1967)."
