I hope this story comes out as funny in the telling as it felt at the time! It is a situation only a special needs family could understand.
The other morning, I was rushing to get out the door on my way to work. My (teenaged) kids were fighting, and I was royally stressed about leaving while tempers were so high. Both my kids have issues, and I really didn't know if I could leave at that time. I wasn't 100% convinced it wouldn't become violent. But I took a moment to step back and notice exactly what it was they were fighting about. DD wanted to vacuum the living room. DS wanted to watch the republican convention on the TV in the living room.
One child wanted to clean the house, the other wanted to be politically informed!!! Who would have ever thought my kids would fight over such things?
Rhu - mother,grandmother,daughter,sister,friend-foster,adoptive,and biological;not necessarily in that order. Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, but I had a good life all the way (Jimmy Buffet)
