Our family is moving to the island of Oahu in January. All my internet research and friend-networking has produced is a lot of anxiety.
Lots of negativity surrounding the public school system and special education services.
I'd love it if someone could ease my mind a little.
Do you or anyone you know well have a positive story about special needs/autism parenting in Hawaii?
I've contacted the SPIN network, the school district Autism resource leader, and all the appropriate people on the military side of things. All I got were really vague remarks or answering machines.
Moving can be so stressful; I'm wishing you peace in these upcoming months! It looks like your post might have been missed, so I wanted to bump it up for attention. Anyone have experiences to share? You might want to post in the Hawaii forum as well to get recommendations from moms in Hawaii.
