Hi everyone.

Last month we celebrated C's one year post-surgery date. We called it her "RE-birth Day" and had a heart-shaped cake and ice cream (and yes, little C got to stuff herself silly with it too!).

I am SO.GLAD.WE.DID.THIS!!!!!! It means more to me to recognize and remember the day we knew for sure that our daughter would live.

Re: holter monitors... I started bringing an ace-type bandage to our appointments and wrapping that around her trunk over the electrodes instead of using that awful tape! I don't ever want to have to try to remove that tape ever ever again!

Aunt G, we did the same thing on E's 1 yr anniversary of his surgery. His anniversary is only 15 days after his birthday so instead of having a birthday party we waited until then to have a healthy heart party. We made everything heart shaped too. It was a blast. We're probably going to do it every year because the day he had heart surgery (in our opinion) is the true day he was "born" or given life. We both have June '07 babies too! What a coincidence.

Zen doula-mama to my spirited DS1 (2/03), my CHD (TAPVR) warrior DS2 (6/07) & a gentle baby girl (8/09)
