I find this twistedly hilarious!

DD has seizures. We are getting a VEEG in the next couple of months.

My husband and BIL LOVE Guitar Hero 3. The only problem is that DD does too.

The problem with that? They trigger more partial complex seizures in her.

So guess what my BIL and husband have offered to do?

They have offered to go to her VEEG and hook up the Wii to the TV in the room and play guitar hero 3 while she has her testing done.

Basically, they will do what they can to help trigger some of these seizures.

She will love it. It is very sweet of them to offer to do this and help out. It will help her out while hooked up to all the stuff.

I find it so funny in a weird and twisted sort of way.

DH and the BIL also want to be hooked up to see how their brains respond to video games, but I don't think that will be allowed.

They are both on the spectrum. When either kid acts "weird" or does something that is typical for someone on the spectrum, either one of them will say that they are just acting like "one of us" or make a joke about being one of the "(our last name) genes." They also make the comments that the kids "get if from" one of them.

Thankfully being on the spectrum in our family means you are just like everyone else.....quirky in your own right.

There are a few techs and nurses at the hospital that we have come to be friends with who love to drop by and say hi each time the kids are in the hospital.

I am sure there will be quite a few people playing a song or two to "help DD" out when she is there.

I find it all hilarious.

That sounds like fun. Every EMU should have Guitar Hero! Actually, ours has some car racing XBox game that is waaay beyond my 5 yr old, but I let her play it just to stimulate seizures (not that she needs help in that

Hope you are able to get scheduling done easily and quickly. Be sure to video tape the guitar playing!

Unfortunately, I was able to get some good footage of a seizure over the weekend.

I am going to call the neuro tomorrow to check on the status of things.

I have a lot of calls to make tomorrow. Fun times!

I am such a dork. I will have a hospital survival kit for us too. HA!
