My guys just turned two. One of them is really laid back and easy going, but the other one is CONSTANTLY whining! It's driving me absolutely NUTS and the rest of our family, too.

There are plenty of people around here to give him attention, but it seems like every five minutes or so, he's whining/crying/throwing a fit and I can not figure out why?

We all give them equal attention, but the one is demanding much more than any of us can give with everything else going on here.

Any suggestions?

TIA,

Angela

something i've learned is that equal is not always best. sometimes one twin may need tons more attention, and, at 2, the other one may be able to understand that if you explain it to him simply ("joey, bobby really needs mama to hold him right now...he's very sad-or whatever-why dont you make him a picture to help make him feel better?"). i don't have one twin who is always more demanding than the other, but i have learned to concentrate on fulfilling the needs they each have at that given moment, rather than tallying it to make sure that its all even in the end.

of course, it's not so easy when they are BOTH screaming, crying, and hitting everybody in sight!

My twins are not yet to that stage (they are 14-months) but their older sister (who is 3 1/2) has been through it. I almost wish we were still in that stage compared to the sassy/backtalking one we're in now. : You may want to post your question on the Gentle Discipline board to get some more feedback on what to do.
