Did you have trouble keeping up with your babes when away? My husband took the girls out so I could get some work done.... I nursed them at 11:45 and then pumped at 1:45 and only got 3 1/2 oz. They have been gaining great. I feel like I pumped that amount with my singleton though. I am starting Fenugreek/Blessed Thistle back up again today and drinking lots of water. I am considering doing some supply upping techniques too but am just sad that here at 5 months of EBF that may be in order. =(
Remember that the pump will never be as effective at getting the milk out as your babies! I haven't been away from my girls yet but did do a lot of pumping in the first month since one wasn't nursing well yet and I would get about 3-4 oz. per session, which was about one feed for one baby. You could try to pump more often while they're away, the more often your breasts are drained fully, the more milk you'll make.
Married to my love since 08/12/10, mama to E 04/06/01 and twin girls M and Z 01/08/11
We are a family! Expecting #4 and #5 in September - what a surprise!
