I hope you guys don't mind another pregnancy question. smile.gif

Lately, I am starving all the time. I eat and then feel like I am haven't eaten for days within 1/2 hour. I am so moody because of it too, snapping at my kids and crying. I don't remember being this hungry with my previous pregnancies. I am 17 weeks and m/s is getting better, though I still take Zofran 3-6 x week for the nausea. I am trying to load on the protein, but dairy is a no-go most of the time and meat is still hard to choke down. Any protein drink recos?

TIA

i actually got insomnia when preggo with my twins and figure out after a while that it was from hunger, i could not fall back to sleep without eating protein! thankfully one of these drinks on the bedside did the trick, it would happen before each growth spurt from the babies, i always knew the week after a few nights awake meant the tummy was about to jump up in size!

Have you checked into twin diet plans just to get a feel for what  a day would look like?

Here's one http://drbrewerpregnancydiet.com/id92.html

I didn't eat meat until my last trimester when I forced myself to. I had been vegetarian for a decade and it made me sick thinking about reintroducing it. Are you near a decent health food store? Maybe grab a variety of protein bars or shakes to find one you can manage on a regular basis. The above plan calls for 100+ grams of protein a day, a pretty hefty load.

I was constantly starving.

Avocado and tofu can be interesting additions to a smoothie.

Do you eat fish? Peanut butter?

And experiment with protein bars until you find one you like.

I see you are due in August. I'm due in May, and the starving feeling eased up a couple of months ago. But it was so powerful! I had a lot of "4 fried eggs with bacon"-type snacks right before going to bed. I tried to add a lot of butter to cooked veggies, and used 32% fat creme fraiche / sour cream as a seasoning.

As for supplements, I'm ok with some dairy so I make drinks with goat milk protein, but I also have rice protein and organic hemp protein. I'm re-ordering soon and I'll add egg protein. Those are very handy for smoothies.

Can you eat seafood? Packages such as 400g of frozen peeled mussels are very handy - nuke them with pasta sauce and it's a nice snack, high in protein and iron. Frozen seafood mixes are good, too.
