Today I was looking up ultrasound photos of babies (both single and twin) that were the same gestation as mine. This is what I found....the big one is obviously *MY* u/s but the two in the lower corners were just ones I found online that showed twins. I'm like super convinced now...if I'm told it's one baby and my uterus is freakishly large...I will be shocked!!
I have no idea, but I would feel pretty confident trusting the ultrasound tech and other specialists who looked at or performed the ultrasound. I never feel like I know what I'm looking at with these things, but then, that's because I'm not trained in it, they are.
You are going to drive yourself crazy until you know for sure. Could you get another U/S? It kind of looks like two to me compared to the ones you found. Do you have another U/S planned?
It does look like there could be two if they are mono/mono...my 9-week u/s showed very clearly two sacs with a rather thick line between them, and one baby in each. I would ask for another u/s to be sure!
I have another ultrasound set for the 8th...with a call waiting list on the 2nd if they get an opening. So we will know soonish either way. I'm like 90% positive though. Between the picture and my uterus being at my belly button at 14 weeks....Just seems most logical. I'm happy with at least A healthy baby but I'm pretty dang gone sure lol.
The doc did say only one. But it was a quick, low quality, in office ultrasound not performed by a tech. I dont believe it lol....I've also ready WAY too many stories of missed twins at that stage.
