Did anyone pursue CVS testing on their triplets - in planning reduction or otherwise?

I just found out I'm pregnant with triplets after IVF - they're tri/tri. I'm at 7 weeks and have some serious thinking to do.

After consulting with a top MFM specialist, i found out that there is no one in MA willing to do CVS on triplets but there is someone in NYC apparently.

I'm a 40yr old single mother by choice and am torn by this very mixed blessing. I am overweight and this is my first pregnancy - which both put me in some higher risk categories.

I know there are many of you with reasonably successful triplet pregnancies and many who chose to reduce. It's such a personal decision so I'm more asking about early testing here.

Apparently no one has done statistical benchmarks for materinT21 on triplets and that most docs won't attempt CVS on triplets because it's so hard to ensure you've sampled all three separately.

So looking for anyone who has sought out these tests or relied on nuchal fold tests to rule out T21.

Sorry, no input on CVS or any other testing -- we found out it was triplets in week 20 in what I thought was going to be our only ultrasound in a normal pregnancy.

I hope you get some supportive and informative responses.

If you decide to continue with the triplet pregnancy, I know of a group of single (several by choice) triplet moms that I can get you in touch with.

PM me if that's the route you decide to take.

Take care, and good luck in the tough decisions that lie ahead for you.

No advice, just sending support for whatever decision you make. I was a SMBC with my first child, and remember a lot of the anxieties that accompany it. Good luck with making positive decisions for you and your family.

No advice, but I would suggest talking to a genetic counselor about the likelihood of there being genetic issues versus the likelihood of miscarriage caused by the CVS. That statistic drove our decision on that question. (and your numbers will be different than ours were)

This sounds like a hard situation, and I wish you all the best, and hope you find good people to talk to. This isn't something to try to go through all alone (single mothers need villages too).

I can understand how overwhelming this news must be.  Raising multiples is intense.   Are you sure you can handle the psychological stress of a reduction?  You have enough time to put support plans into place to help you raise them.  If you don't have enough friend and family support, PM me and I will help you find the support you need in your area.

I have plenty of support. Just looking for info on testing and have found it elsewhere. Thanks.

How are you doing, mama? I am a triplet Mom and mine are almost 11 months now. There are some trip Moms on MDC but sometimes they are few and far between (and BUSY!).

Just wanted to see how you were traveling as your pregnancy progresses. Hope all is well.

Hi momtoafireteam -- doing ok. 25+1 heading in for second steroid shot today. Contractions are intense tonight after first shot but short lived. I'm on full bed rest due to short cervix - cerclage was placed at 19+4 and I'm down to the stitch at 1.5cm.

I haven't found much triplet activity here but there are a few good Facebook groups. Including a few clothing resale sites smile.gif I'm having BBG fraternals -- nice mix. Just hoping and praying to make it past 33 weeks.
