Ok since you are all so fulll of great ideas and experience... What should I do with my twins? They are two weeks old and I am exclusively breastfeeding. My husband had his first day back to work today and we successfully tandem fed :-) ... I am exhausted and barely have time to eat, and clean myself as well as feed and clean them but I still feel like I should be doing more... Like I always pictured myself holding my babies all the time but with two that's so hard. I can't just hold them bc I will fall asleep and I don't trust myself to sleep with them. So I basically sit on the couch and watch them sleep in their swings while I eat, fall asleep or wait for them to wake and eat. Is this all I I can realistically do? I feel bad. We hold them when we can and I have a boba wrap but again anytime they aren't feeding or needing a change I am supposed to be relaxing/sleeping myself so idk when to use it. We do skin to skin before bed and they love that, especially after a bath but... I want to do more

What was your experience/ routine like with your twins/multiples?

Not ideal, but I remember a lot of the first few weeks with my little ones was spent on our couch.  I had a twin breastfeeding pillow (get one!  I found I needed two, one for my house, one for my mom's)  and my little guys would sleep next to me on the pillow and feed or sleep.

Wraps are also good.  I never pulled off the Moby double wrap, but have friends who swore by it.  I would occasionally do a double ergo (one on front and the other on back) when they were bigger.  That was fun.

Good luck, sounds like you're doing a great job!

i did (and still do) a lot of baby wearing. I held one baby while the other was in the swing. We cosleep, so I often sleep without a shirt on for easier skin to skin. My twins are seven months old (oh crap, how did that happen!). I often say I dont remember the first three months of their life at all. I'm glad we took a lot of photos. They still seem attached to me, though. Smooch them every chance you get, hold them as often as you can, and be gentle with yourself. You're already the best mom they have ever known. The newborn stage was really like, survival at any cost for me.

You are rockin it!! be gentle on yourself-they will soon "wake up" and it will be hard to find much time for rest:)

I strongly recommend that relieve yourself of any expectations of what you "should" do until after the three month hurdle is past.  For now, rest, recover, nurse, rest, eat, sleep.

Hold them when you can, enjoy watching them. It's ok. You don't need to be doing "more".

Thank you all. Things are going fairly well! The girls are gaining, I am losing although a bit of that is my mind! But it's worth it. We are on day three of a growth spurt so yeah...

I have a twin feeding pillow... And have made a comfy spot on the couch. I have relaxed more about doing anything but feed them. It's such hard work!

You are doing terrific. Amazing. And the bonding is happening, as is the attachment.
