I read that there is a significantly higher rate of pregnancy with twins when the mother is lactating. Were any of you nursing when you became pregnant with your twins? I have 1st grade twins and am currently pregnant with my fifth. I am exclusively nursing a 15 month old and feel that there may be a possibility of being pregnant with twins again. My ovulation was significantly delayed during this last cycle and I'm wondering if I may have released more than one egg. My body was showing clear signs of ovulation, but my 15 month old was nursing even more than normal, which delayed my ovulation by five days. Anyway, i was just curious if you think your nursing may have contributed to your chances of being pregnant with twins.
I was nursing my 9 month old, had delayed ovulation by almost a week and released 2 eggs. I always used my ovulation date when dealing with care practitioners because I knew it would be way off using the last menstrual cycle. That would be crazy to have 2 sets!
