Hello ladies-
Just sneaking a moment to update you. Here's the "official info"

Finn Patrick- born 3:03am 6-23-06 via c-section : , 8lbs. 6oz and 20 1/2 inches, great APGARS (7/8) and he's doing totally fabulously!

Illyria Jade- born 3:06am 6-23-06 via c-section, 7lbs. 4oz. and 21 inches, awesome APGARS (8/9) and she is also just rockin' on with her bad self!

I am doing fine, got home from the hospital yesterday. Still processing the birth experience and focusing on healing- it was a hard, long labor ending in the opposite birth experience that I ideally wanted and I am mourning that : .

BUT I am filled with so much for my beautiful babes who are huge and gorgeous and healthy and never spent one single second in a NICU much less even a regular nursery!!!

Thanks for everyone's love and support through this life-changing experience.
Home resting and healing,

Crunchy Mama to the Triad of Chaos-- DD1 (9/03) & the Twinadoes- DS and DD2 (6/06)

Wonderful news, Kate!

What wonderful birthweights and heights! Nice job, mama!

Finn was the same birthweight as my Lloyd.

Can hardly wait for the pictures.

Congrats on the births of your babies. I was surprised to see your news of c-births but I am so impressed with you and how amazingly you did with this pregnancy. You are such an inspiration and I want other mamas to learn from you.

the short version is that after about 24 hours of active labor, my body started shutting my labor down, i spiked a fever and the babies heartrates were too high (180s). i was so sad to leave my house and just cried and cried when my midwives said it just wasn't safe for me to stay home anymore. since both babies were footling breech, going to the hospital meant a section. it was all very traumatic and will probably take me a long time to process and heal from. but i had to trust them and my body that it was the right thing to do. i am just very grateful that i was able to give them a good pregnancy and that i was able to give them a labor as well.

Congratulations, again, Kate! I'm so sorry you ended up in place you didn't want to be, but you certainly did a wonderful job growing big, strong babies. I hope you are getting all the rest and help you need!
