My twins are 15 months and I'd like to complain. There is always someone crying. I can never leave their sight! Oh, how easy it would be with one. I'd just wait for him/her to get tired and then gently help him drift off to sleep. But NOOO they both fight sleep so much, that if one is tired, the only way to get them to fall asleep is to take them to another room and rock them.. but what about the other one, that isn't allowed.. the non-tired one is hysterical which doesn't do much for the tired baby drifting off to sleep. Twins who both hate to sleep is so hard!!

Mine are 15 months too and they are soooo clingy. i cannot do anything. They are not yet walking and they want to be held so much. Everyone says they are "spoiled" WTF? How can a twin be spoiled. they have had to share their mom with another since birth.
I have nowhere to vent...b/c ya'know "I wanted it this way" so i get no sympathy from anyone, including dh. :

Can I just say how much better this thread makes me feel? It seems like all the twin mamas I know IRL have twins who are much easier than my two are, but it seems like most mamas here have a hard time with their twins, too. Makes me wonder if the mamas I know IRL are putting up a good front. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one with kids who run away from me on the way to the car, have hideous bedtimes, etc, etc, etc. So not that I'm glad other people are having a rough time, too, but it makes me feel like my kids are more normal. I seriously was worried that perhaps they had food allergies or something making them act like little monkeys.

SAHM to F & P, : fraternal twins born 3/05, : I, born 12/07 & at 5 weeks in July 2009

SOML. I'd like to institute a new abbreviation. SOML = STORY OF MY LIFE! Except this was the SOML from 1 to 2 years old.

Hang in there mom. Luckily - with patience - this year will eventually pass and be but a blur in your mothering memory.

And you are absolutely right . . . . 1 kid is SOOOO easy to deal with on these issues. I have the memory of my singletons babyhood to make me extra bitter on those trying triplet days . . . .

TripMom . . . . . loving mom : to DS (12) and BBG (10)

My kids would tear apart their room at nap. My solution was that we removed everything EXCEPT their beds. Literally. Everything. Out.

I've also BTDT with the diaper removal thing. We tried EVERYTHING. Eventually (but it was a long eventually) they just got over it.

I cut the footy part of all their pj's and would put them on backwards, with a zipper AND a snap. That detracted them from removing their pj's (and diapers). During the day they almost always wore overalls.

I've found that my singleton is SO different. I don't know if her personality is more laid back but I think it's just that she doesn't have a co-conspirator! She has never done half the things they'd done by the time they were her age (2).

I'm having a quick u/s this week just to MAKE SURE I'm not having twins this time around.

Wanted to add --

My boys stopped napping when they turned 4yo. However, after about a month, I found out I was pregnant and I started insisting on naptime again. NO PROBLEM. So don't give up -- try starting naptime again!

They cried for like 2 minutes, and then they went right to bed. Sometimes one naps with me, but we all nap every day. No more nighttime meltdowns.

I had a hard time gaining weight too. I only gained 36 pounds, well only 15 actually if you don't count the 16 I gained back from the losing in the beginning. Even with how hard it was I would love to do it again though!

I am sitting here laughing at all of the remarks about pregnancy. I remember them so well! IT was like reading my own story. : So since I have a sense of humor about that part now, that must mean that I will eventually have a sense of humor about this part too?!?! s to all of us mamas. We all deserve and need some rest and relaxation. Maybe we can invent a theme park where our kids can play safely and we can relax in another area WITHOUT them for a little while? Hey, it could happen .....right /:

My whine..........it would take too much time to say it all so I will simply say "Calgon take me away!":

Hang in there, ladies, it DOES get easier!!! My ID boys are 12 years old, and I don't miss the days you describe one bit.

They were at least 2 before we dared leave them in a room alone together - if I had to go to the bathroom, one of them came with me. At their 15-month dr appt, one of them was covered with bite marks. Our wonderful doctor simply said "I see B has a nice set of teeth!"

If the chips are down, the buffalo is empty.

I sure hope it gets easier. My girls have just started with fighting over everything. Yesterday it was a toothbrush. Today it was a bath toy (not in the bath). I thought that everyone said you need two of everything. Well, I realize I need four of everything - because each of them has two hands!

Betsy, mama to beautiful, strong MZ twins Lillian and Kate, born 11 weeks early on January 10, 2006.
