I am curious as to whether spotting is more common in a multiple pg. as opposed to a singleton.

Any help would be appreciated.

I spotted very little with my twins around the 4th week of conception but none afterwards or later in the pregnancy. If you are spotting enough to alarm you, definately call your doctor/midwife/doula.

I spotted a lot, probably for the first 9 weeks or so and again at 19 weeks. My twin pregnancy was caused by IVF, though, and I assumed that the spotting was, at least in part, caused by trauma to the cervix and uterus when a catheter was passed to transfer the embryos. The doctor who did my ultrasound said he could see my blood pooled up behind the cervix & that's why I was spotting.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I noticed that you are in Utah (as I am). I'm in Eagle Mountain (Utah County). Are you anywhere near me?

This twin pg is the only one I haven't had any spotting with. (IVF also) I had the most with my first child and the least spotting when I miscarried. (Until I actually miscarried of course.) I wouldn't hesitate to contact your doc/mw/re or whoever it is you are still seeing.

Me.  With 1 spouse, 4 kids, 16 chickens, 74 matchbox cars, 968,562+ legos, a dishwasher waiting to be emptied, a washing machine waiting to be filled and a lost cup of tea in the house.

I'm next to HAFB in Davis County.

I spotted with my twins but then I also spotted with my singleton.

I did have some spotting. I can't remember when, exactly. Later than the first trimester, I'm sure of that. It scared me badly, as I had had a miscarriage just before my twin pregnancy. I called my midwife and she asked if there had been any lovemaking. There had. I guess my cervix, which has always bled easily (pap smears make me bleed), was "irritable." My pregnancy went on normally until 30 or 31 weeks when I started spotting again and went into pre-term labor. I gave birth just shy of 33 weeks. Call your provider if you're bleeding!

I spotted for a few days at about 9 weeks. Sorry if TMI, but it was brown, not red. My high risk OB said it was common in twin pregnancy, but that I needed to contact him if I started spotting again.

I don't know the "official" answer, but I did spot, actually it more like bleed (TMI, sorry) till about 16 weeks. It was very stressful; I though I was miscarrying a couple of times. But I went to 39 weeks with very healthy big babies.
