I just stare at all the 38, 39w bellies and think, Damn, I was tiny compared to that!
mom of (8) (5) (3) and born at home on Christmas day!
Also, some of those babies make my 7 pounders look like PIPSQUEAKS.
i have watched it like twenty times and it keeps getting better!
Off to send elsewhere!
Missionary, birth-worker, midwifery student
Mama to DD (9yr), DS (3yr), & UC twin DDs (5yr)
1) I sent the link yesterday to the lady who runs www.givingbirthnaturally.com (she has a VERY popular online CBE program, a great web site, and I've had over 9000 hits to my birth video from her site alone since she put a link on her site). Anyway, she's going to put a link on her site!
2) I also just got an email from the Communications Coordinator for The Big Push campaign (the national campaign to legalize midwifery in every state). She asked permission to post it on their clips and pics page (http://www.thebigpushformidwives.org/clips.pix.aspx). Of course I said yes!
So, it will be up in a few high-profile places soon.
you're over 2,000 views already! that's got to feel awesome.
i forwarded it through the birth community here and got an email back from a midwife who had her twins at home unassisted 26 years ago! she said it was beautiful and that she would pass it on!
What are some of the sites to send it to? You know, anyone here can pass it along if you have any connections. I've googled a little, and it's already working through the birth blogosphere a bit, which is cool!
I forwarded it to everyone I know, including my local MOM's club. I did put in a terminology guide in my email though b/c I know lots of people will not know what the abbreviations mean (like my mom didn't know VBAC/HBAC and even my own dh didn't know TTTS, IUGR, and something else which I don't remember now). Something to consider when sending to your average lay person.
IUGR= intrauterine growth retardation
Some of the moms who have experienced these might be able to better explain some of these.
I wanted to be clear in the video, but the longer the text the more iMovie squishes it up and makes it tinier and harder to read, so I figured people could google it if they needed to.
And how cool that there is a birth center that supports both waterbirth and twins! I've never heard of one.
Beautiful and inspiring. Thanks!
