EDITED TO ADD: MY WATER JUST BROKE....I am not sure what my deal is b/c my last 3 births I welcomed labor and was actually excited about it starting.......BUT the contractions I have been having the last week or so (on and off-- I am 37 wks now) have REALLY triggered my memory on what hard labor is like.....so now, I am already dreading it in a way. Last night while attempting to sleep I had a few good ones where I was like, OH Gawd!! I remember this!!!!!!

Plus, I really have some fears on A) pushing out TWO babies (I remember the RELIEF I always felt after the baby was out and to think I will be pushing out yet another one after that first one ......and B) I am a little freaked about being able to handle TWO newborns at once!!!!! HOLY MOLY!!!

So did any other mamas go through this? I am wondering how on earth I will get thru labor when I am lacking the anticipation/excitement factor......

DS-10, DS-8, DS-5 and B/G twins- born 5/08 all lovingly born

The great thing about labor is it very rarely gives you much chance to freak out. It's a river of it's own energy that just sort of carries you along.

My labor with the twins was very easy until Booty Girl put her foot down and made everything more complicated. Then it got hard because I didn't have any "help" from a presenting part dilating my cervix and had to P-U-S-H but couldn't.

The actual pushing of the babies was hard, but again because I had stinky presentations for both. I can honestly say it was the hardest work I've ever done, but it was SO amazing when it was over. It was almost surreal looking down and seeing my two wiggly, wet newborns all snuggled beside me. Simply amazing. It's SO worth it when it's all over, I promise

I refuse to use the "E" word, but so far my twins are not high needs like several of their siblings. I've got my fingers crossed!!!

You can do it!

I am so excited that you are having your babies now! You probably won't be reading this anytime soon, but know that I am sending you easy labor vibes!

Just joining in with the cheering! You can do it! And it is exhilarating to see those two babes (and wasn't nearly as hard to push Twin B as I thought it would be -- I remembered that euphoria after my singleton was born and figured the last thing I would want to do was do it all again -- but it didn't seem so daunting once I was in the middle of it.)

You can do it! You are! Can't wait to hear the birth story! Keep us posted! (And could I use any more exclamation points?!)!

Good luck, mama! All I thought when I read your post was, "She's worrying about being able to do labor?!? But she IS doing labor!! Right this very minute!"

I hope you get to meet your healthy babies very soon!

Sleepy mama to Colin Theodore 8-12-08 and Trevor Arthur 7-17-12.

I'd go back and read some of the more recent birth stories (mine is in the link in my signature) .. that helped me.

One day at a time, as far as handling the new babies ....

keep us posted!!

I can't tell you how absolutely amazing it was to see my first twin floating in the water--BORN!!!!!! So incredible, it made me not fear 2nd birth, just look forward to it.
My MW loved the line I used during "hard" labor *I really romanticized all this!*If you have the opportunity, I wish I would have had a postpartum doula the 1st nite. But once you meet your babes, you will know that you can do this!
Blessings to you, I'm so happy for you-- what an incredible moment in your life.

Oh you can do it!!!! I dreaded labor too (since I really wasn't looking forward to having two babies.) Once my first babe was born and I held her all warm and slimey I knew I would be just fine. Pushing out that second baby isn't any harder because you've all ready done it once. It is the same (or I felt like it was easier, tbh)

Maybe you've already done it! Congratulations!
