I've been back to work for 3 mts now, but dh was home. Which made a great transition for everyone!!!!He got called back to work, and started today. which is good, we can now get caught up in our finances...anyway...just got back from dropping ds off...my boss was nice enough to let me to get away from work and bring him in myself. We spent a few hrs there together last week. He seemed happy. He's loving seeing all the other babies...he's 8 mts (just turning 8 mts). My good friend is the cook at the daycare. And I *know* he'll be well taken care of....
Just sad, ya know?
Thanks for 'listening'....

I had a similar experience - when I went back to work, DH had off for the summer, so DS was 8 months when he went to childcare. He honestly looks forward to it now - when he saw where we were this morning, his eyes just lit up, and he started babbling the names of all his little friends.

I don't have my son in day care yet, but I did take him to the child watch at my new gym for the first time yesterday. It was only an hour but I was worried - it turned out to be for nothing. He loved it! They loved him!

I think it's a good idea for kids to be in a day care/child watch, in the right places, because kids need to socialize too.

I'm so glad it's going well

We started DS in daycare 2 days/week when he was 6 months old, and he *loves* it! IMO, it gives him a nice variety of experiences staying with us sometimes and going to daycare other times. He actually seems to get bored when home with us for a long time, and like your baby, just lights up at daycare (and playgroups) He just loves his teachers, other children, and cool toys. Hope it works out as well for you - how great to have your friend working there!
