I am taking 3 courses this fall and plan to only take 1 or 2 next semester, I would really like to work on tuesdays starting in january when exdh has the kids! I am thinking about putting in my application to be a substitute teacher, but I am also considering other options. Would one of those labor ready type places be a good idea? I have went to one way back in college and ended up cleaning houses which wasn't too bad.

I gather not many employers will hire someone just for tuesdays?

I think subbing sounds like a great idea. Don't forget options like Head Start and local child care facilities. The pay may not be fantastic but it will be 'something.' I think places like Kelly Services are often  hiring for short term assignments--not just one day, but a couple of weeks or a month. You could always call them and ask though, if they ever place someone just for Tuesday assignments.

You might check with local shops you frequent, such as the grocery store. Anything where the discount will be an added bonus equals more money earned AND saved. After school, you might find you like the job enough to tack on more shifts.
