I came across this article about this celebrity's divorce, and her bid for custody is based on the fact that her 2yo son is still breastfed, and they co sleep, and she's pregnant to boot.

I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, but I think it's great that this mom sleeps with and nurses her child.

As a single parent, I always wondered what happens to an ebf, cosleeping child in a custody battle. It would be cruel to rip a child from that situation.

It's great, but it's still celebrity gossip/chit-chat and belongs in TAO.

How sad for the kids - both the little boy, and the one still in utero - that their parents divorce drama is big media news. No child deserves that.

I can't imagine going through that as a regular citizen, let alone as a celebrity. From what I know of these types of situations, it totally depends on the judge & his/her opinion of what is best for the child. I will keep my fingers crossed for both of them. :

It depends on the Judge. And, yes, it is cruel. Unfortunately, it's happened many times before. Fortunately I had a "good" Judge and ds never ended up spending more than 3 hours with his "dad" before he gave up and stopped picking ds up (and when he started taking ds for visits it started at 1 hour and built up). Unfortunately, more often than not, that doesn't happen.

Thanks. Wasn't sure where to put it. From now on, I'll put threads like this in TAO.

I think the judge is saying that her son can't accompany her to NYC, where her show is filmed. Her estranged husband wants the boy to stay with him instead of going with his mom while she finishes her show.

Yay! Good for her for cosleeping/bfing and so glad the judge recognized the importance of keeping the child with the mother.
