Hi! I belong to a wonderful organization called Moms Club Intl., It is a support group for stay at home moms. Once a month we have a Mom's night out, and I just became the new chairperson of that committee! I have a few ideas; like game night, dinner/movie night, etc. I even have some more creative ideas such as going to a new art exhibit downtown or having a talent night.

If you were to do a mom's night out, what would interest you? Thanks for your help!

poetry readings

going to a jazz club and sipping wine

a wine tasting trip (if you live near a winery it can just be an evening thing)

someone teaching a craft (like crochet or mosaic)

a cooking class (our local co-op teaches all sorts of 1-2 hour classes in the evenings)

an infant/child massage class
if you live near a university, you could see about different lectures or seminars that are open to the public...the womens center at my old Uni would have GREAT speakers a lot.

cemetary tours (historical ones often offer "spooky" tours at night)

if you live in a bigger city, look at the schedule for Barnes and Noble or Borders...they often have fun travel lectures, little concerts, and author lectures

i have been to crafts night.

everyone brings what they are working on and do it together, someone made cards, necklaces, collages, sewing&mending whatever we were working on.

a potluck can be nice, or cookie swap when you bring recipes with the cookie you made.

I also think the spa night would be nice.

Our Playgroup does a Moms Night Out every other month. Some of the things we have done and are planning on doing are. Renting time at a florist who will give us a room and we go thru the shop pick flowers and they teach us how to arrange them. We can bring in food and drinks to enjoy while we are working. The cost is $25 per mom. Our group scrap books alot so we have a crouping one where we do our thing and every one brings a great dish or dessert to indulge in. We do the restaraunt thing but have picked some cool places that encourage socializing like a place that served Tappas and we ordered huge list of plates of food and we sampled them all. We also did a mom gift exchange. A friend of a mom is a massage therapist and are having a spa night. We rented space at a plaster craft place and brought in food and did our projects. We are a very active with our kids during play group and so we tend to like moms nights that allow for alot of talking and laughing. Also relaxing is good. Wanted to add we are also doing a slumber party we are bringing our kids with us, but after they are asleep we are going to have our mommy fun with movies and talking and laughing, also maybe a little wine

here in Pa we have a few of the clay and ceramic workshop stores that annyone can go alone or w/ a group, sometimes they do parties for kids. I find this to be really great myself. a lot to choose from and you just pay for the piece of clay/ceramic and then the studio time which includes the firing and glazing.
it's great fun!

DANCING!!!!

Partner dancing, freestyling, or taking a class in something (bellydance, jazz, African...)something fun & creative.
Spa night sounds good, too...and sipping wine somewhere.

Though the best night out I had was going to a male strip club for a bachelorette party. Though that was kinda pricey, and I realize that not everyone would dig it. But it was FUN!!!

Dunno about any of you, but my idea of "mom's night out" would be an uninterrupted and quiet stretch of time in a hot bubble bath with a good book.

I guess that doesn't help you, though.
