Ok, I'm starting to laugh about this now, but this still mortifies me.

So DH and I have lived in our house for 8 years now. We have a light beige curtain on our bedroom window. Our bedroom window faces the main road (BUSY road, lots of foot traffic, etc).

So DH and I were....er....spending some time together tonight and a little light bulb went off on my head. I told DH to lay on the bed but move his arms and legs. I put on my warm clothes, grabbed my shoes, and ran outside and went to the side of the road. You can see everything through this curtain when our night light in our room is on (which it always is unless we are sleeping). So EVERY SINGLE THING that DH and I do in our room with the night light on has been able to be seen by anyone driving or walking along our road.

Oh my goodness. lol.

Oh my goodness! That is so funny! Are you going to get a blackout curtain?

We have these bamboo blinds in our living room, and you can see in from the outside at night when the light is on inside. So one day, our friend called us on his cell and said he was driving by and just wanted us to know that you can see in! It's a good thing we weren't doing anything frisky! LOL.

Ever heard applause? Seen police dispersing a crowd? Have to shoo hot dog vendors and beer vendors off the lawn? No? I think you're okay!

Back when dh and I were dating, we took advantage of some down time before we had to meet up with friends, and about 15minutes into it, we heard a knock on our bedroom window. (1st floor apt). We laugh about it to this day and now, if we have time, we tend to watch tv or read, before people come over.

BabyGrant- Shadow puppets? hehe

Awesome story. Sorry you are mortified though.

When DH and I were first married, we went on a couples retreat in a lovely B&B. Most of the couples had been married for quite a while and we were the only newlyweds. It was really a very relaxed and encouraging retreat.

Well, naturally, my husband and I had a wonderful night and the next morning, I realized that our windows were open and all the other guest rooms windows were as well --- the Fall weather was great. At breakfast I got lots of smiles and my husband received noticeable nods. Later, it dawned on me that I might not be as quiet as I thought! Boy, did I blush when I realized what might have been heard.

I like the make sure the night light is between the window and the bed, so we don't cast a shadow

But I have to admit, I can't picture it! If you are on the bed, how is there a shadow? Maybe I'm just being dense! But I am cracking up about your DH moving his arms and legs.

OMG. That's my worst nightmare. I think I'd probably have to move before I could have sex again - seriously. That would make me SO self-conscious.

I'm guessing you have a place like ours, where the windowsills are really low, so the top of the bed is actually somewhat higher than the bottom of the window. Most places I've lived are like that.

Yes, we have a fairly large window in our bedroom, and the bottom of the window is lower than our bed. So really.....it's the PERFECT puppet show window. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahaha.

If you were flat on the bed, maybe there wouldn't be a shadow. If you were having sex in more upright positions. . .

This actually reminds me of one day in jr high that I was walking to the bus stop. It was very early - barely getting light. I walked past this house that had a frosted window in the living room - and I could clearly see the shadow of naked woman straddling a guy, having what looked to be tons of fun I thought it was hysterical.

Oh man. I am so glad you have a sense of humor about it, because it makes me feel less horrible for cracking up.

When I was in high school, our neighbor brought over a set of thick blinds "for the girls' room" with the only explanation as "Pat is offering to do the dishes a bit too often," which we all thought was really strange, until we realized their kitchen window faced our room.

We once had a large piece of furniture totally blocking one of our bedroom windows. We rearranged one day and started to, ummm... At one point I look up and I realize that the window the furniture used to block had no blindes on it, and the construction crew working on the neighbors roof were getting an eyefull!
