My DD1 wears mostly dresses. I am looking for a longer coat for her that isn't too dressy. Does anyone still carry them? All I have seen so far are shorter waist length coats. She wears a 4T.

My daughter has this coat in the tan & pink. She wears a 4T, too. It falls between her thighs & knees. But the comments about it being more a jacket are correct -- it's fine for our Louisiana winter, but I don't know what climate you're in.

We are in St. Louis. So it probably wouldn't be warm enough.

Yes. DD has this coat.

It's pretty pricey, but I love it. It's not cool enough here for here to wear, but we're moving to WA soon.

Love the coat! But I can't justify the price.

How about this?

You can also look at their outlet if you are close and see if they have some cheaper.

The gymboree outlet had a nice looking wool like coat too.. I didn't look close enough to see the price though since DD has 2 coats and 2 jackets.

We've had good luck at Target, and I just saw cute dress coats at TJ Maxx. You might also look at consignment shops, since they're not an item that ususally wears out. I've found several used that I've loved and passed on when dd grew out of them.

DD's current dress coat is from Target and this is the third year she's worn it - the cuffs turned up and then down to adjust sleeve length.

d'oh! I didn't read your post well enough. Sorry!

Dress coats can be pricey. I've seen some cute ones on http://www.miniboden.com that you might want to look into.

Gazing furtively at you from under my siggie!
