Can someone help me so I can post old pictures on facebook? I want to tag some old friends with great pictures I have that are old. I am thinking the best way to post them is to scan, crop, and post those. But I am afraid the quality will be sub par, or not show up as a photo. Is there a great way to do this?

I think someone in TAO will probably be able to help you. Moving it there.

I have this, which works pretty well for scanning photos and is easy to use. You can use it to scan the negatives too if you still have those.

Another option, if you have a digital camera, is to put the photos in bright light (not direct sunlight) and take a picture of it. I've gotten some good digital pictures that way, especially if you have a photo editor on your computer to clean it up a bit. HTH!

I have had luck with this, too.

I use the scanner on my printer and the quality has been great. I have a Canon brand printer/scanner.

That's all I do. I have one of the printer/scanner/copier combos - a HP one that cost all of $100. Scans my photos just fine. I've put them on FB and then saved them to my Picasa account.

You can take them to a photo store or office store & get them scanned. Or use one of those photo kiosk thingies. It's pretty cheap, I've done it in a bind before. Do you have a scanner at work? That's where I used to do it.
