Oops!  I also found out I can't edit the thread title!!

I MEANT to say:  New MDC format....

The general set-up looks pretty much the same.

Personally, I don't like the new colour for the background and thread titles.  The light blue is harder on my eyes (they're not great to begin with!).

If anyone knows of a way to change the background and font colour, let me know!!

Getting used to it.  The posts are easier to read, for me anyhow, but the light blue color?  We'll see.  The titles can be hard to read due to the light color.

I like that the forums and the main Mothering content have been integrated better.  I still read those articles (still missing the magazine!), and found myself not doing it as much on the old format when it was waaaay over there!

I think it's mostly fine, but I'm finding it a lot harder to differentiate between which threads I've posted in and which I haven't. Is it me, or is there only a very slight color variation between the two?

lima i can tell the colour difference when there are no new posts. i cant tell ANY colour difference when there is a green arrow to show new postings on a thread i have posted on, vs the thread i have not posted on.

I like it fine.  But I'm just noticing that on the 'list of recent activities' I can't jump to my last post in a thread.

Is the only way to find my 'list of recent activities' by way of my name in the upper right corner?

I think you can if you go in and edit your first post.  Once you're in, above the text box there's a 'Edit Thread' option.

I like the older version better, mostly for the background color option. My background is white. I'd like to learn how to change it.

Thanks!!  Found it, but "Edit Thread" is in such really tiny letters, I hadn't even noticed it!  Now I know!

I like the old version better. I think the font is often too big in this new format. Like, too big in places and not big enough in others. I'm not a fan of the blocky font.

I know a lot of members had a problem with the change a few years ago, but I actually liked that change. I wish we could choose skins, but I suppose that will come one day.

I was expecting to see a change in the vax forum with this new switch, but I guess that will be later.

I think I like it. Definitely takes some getting used to...

Didn't we once have the ability to "change skins?" Or was that a different forum I was on, like 2-3 years ago?

Ages ago you could change skins here.  There was MDC tan, and a purple theme and a blue theme, etc.  I think.

Yes! I loved the purple skin. I think that was back when MDC used vBulletin though.

Please please forgive me for asking - if it offends you -

for those of you having trouble with the light blue - do you have colour blindness? i am curious and really want to know.

coz i asked dd's bf who is colour blind if he could read the light blue titles and he had trouble. dd and i didnt.

For some reason, it seems like there is not quite enough contrast, even though when I look at it hard, it seems like there should be enough.  Maybe it's these eyes getting old, but the blue is hard.

Also, I can barely read the #of new posts on each thread.

I'm not disliking the general format, but the old version seemed so much crisper.  I'm having trouble with the pastels.

i wonder if admin could just up the contrasts in blues a little bit so it would help everyone.

Same here. It isn't a problem with the color but that it is too pale against the white background. I'm ok with the slightly darker blue (bolded?) of the unread thread titles. But the lighter version (regular version) is too light.

I really don't care for it much. Like has already been said, I have trouble seeing much difference between new post, old post, and the posts I have commented in.

I feel like the other thing that's going on is that Im having a hard time differenciating between the threads Ive read/posted in and the ones I havent. There are some threads I've never even seen that are highlighted, and the contrast between the new thread text and the threads I've posted in text isnt enough for me to be able to easily find it.

I sure hope someone sees this who can help us!

I'm finding it impossible to differentiate between which threads I've posted in and which I haven't as well as which threads I've read and which have new posts. The white is killing me as well! I'm not color blind either! I might even have to not visit as often as I like because it's giving me headaches. :(

This is the first update to the forums that I haven't hated instantly. I'm not in love with it, but I like it way better than the most recent format.

The colors are really pleasant; I like them way more than the old colors. It's true that you can't tell in New Posts which threads you've participated in, but that doesn't matter much to me because I usually just go to Subscriptions if I want to find those threads.
