We are thinking of visiting Washington DC over Thanksgiving weekend.

I have never been there and my husband hasn't been for 46 years.

Any hotel recommendations?  I read good reviews for the Palomar in Dupont Circle.   Cleanliness and walk-ability are most important to us.  (A decent price w/b nice too :))

Any Thanksgiving dinner recommendations?  We are vegetarian and have only eaten Thanksgiving out a couple of times.  It's usually a preset menu on Thanksgiving so we just eat the sides.  So...we don't really care if it is a traditional thanksgiving meal...we just need someplace open on Thanksgiving.

TIA

We just used airbnb to rent a beautiful cottage in Woodstock, NY and we are there right now.  I recommend this site to anyone looking for an alternative to hotels. We have a beautiful place with a kitchen and fireplace for less than 100 a night, and we have saved a ton by cooking breakfast and snacks.

nm... once I actually pulled up some of the rentals it made more sense.

I will keep this site in mind when we travel.  I looked at rentals in DC...most are more expensive than the hotel.
