Well, we've only made it to nap time, but so far:

2 failed attempts to get out of bed and start my day by myself, got dressed and a couple sips of coffee anyway.
Started laundry, fed dogs, moved and turned on a sprinkler, failed to get the cat to come in to eat, (we got a new half grown kitty named Paco), and set plants outside to harden off.
Read my Bible and had my coffee while she danced around and drank my Recharge from last night.
Straightened the house some, started school with my 2 stragglers, the eldest fished yesterday. These two have weeks left. The eldest has to turn in a final report and take her GED and she'll be ready for a graduation party!
Did dishes, kept laundry going, attempted to work on finances, moved the sprinkler, ate a bit, and lay down with the little girl. I think she's slowly waking up.

STILL NEED TO:
Take my vitamins and stuff
Eat, I am hungry
Finish finances
Finish laundry
Do my grocery list
Get ready to shop tomorrow

Oh crap. She may got up announcing she leaked on the bed. Add change sheets to the list.

- dropped off some papers DH needed at work

- got groceries

- put them away

- woke DS2

- made him lunch

- PT stretches

- gave DS1's room a quick pass with a vacuum

- walked down for the mail

- took out the trash and recycling

- purged a huge box of more maps, etc., cut it down by 2/3

- chatted online briefly with DS1, he's on his way up as I type

- made dinner (including roast radishes for the first time; we're not sure about them)

Picking up DS1 in a couple of hours!

Yep. When I find a great price, I buy enough to last a really long time. I try to coupon/sale shop and stockpile toiletries and non-perishable pantry items when ever I can - saves us loads of money. And I always say - food in the pantry is oftentimes better than money in the bank. You can't eat your checking account.

Run of the mill day here after work -

- Spent some time with Little Man.

- Stopped at Whole Foods for almond oil and flaxseed flour.

- Grocery shopped.

- Did the bedtime routine with Little Man.

- Added some books to my Goodreads to read list.

And now I'm alternating between mindless internetting and office work. In that world... it is going to get worse before it gets better. But you know what? I'm a damned good manager. So at least there's that.

Buying stuff like that twice a year make a lot of sense.  Hm.  I should start looking for some coupons to go on top of my Just4U coupons and Safeway deals (I don't think I have it in me to shop at more than Whole Foods and Safeway).

Yesterday:

Worked a while

Went to therapy (That was really good.  I needed it)

On a whim, took son out to lunch with husband

Stopped at grocery store for a couple things

Came home and contemplated walking nonobadbordercollie.  But was responsible and studied instead

Badbordercollie shoved her tennis ball on my leg like the whole time I studied.  heh

Girls home so helped DD2 start painting her room.  She picked a dark purple to go on one wall and this lavender blue for the other walls.  I think it will look really pretty.  But I loathe painting.  So we only got one wall done (the purple one).

Made dinner (black bean and ham soup with cheese bread.  It used lots of extra kale I have!)

Studied some more

Read to the girls

Watched half of some really bad movie from 1971 before heading to bed.  Husband thought it was boring and didn't make sense.  I thought the horribleness of the acting and the absence of a plot line made it intriguing so we'll finish it tonight.  lol

I have finals today.  I test so poorly that I am not anticipating doing fantastically, but I think I'll pass.

Hit the ground in the kitchen today, with more to come:

- basically reheats so far, of previously scratch-cooked foods, for both DS1 and DS2

- got a Google maps tour of the area to which DS1 and his GF are moving in a couple of months

- took a quick pass at some clothes and furniture DH and I are purging to see if DS1 wants any of it

- roasted some chicken to dice up for upcoming meals

- about to cook ground meat as part of tonight's lasagna

- build the lasagna; for some reason I find that really hard got that done, it's in the oven!

- also made a chocolate cake from scratch; fresh chocolate buttercream frosting tonight

Don't know about this evening, probably a game of Settlers with the kids.

Sounds like a good day!  I remember when my mil and mom gave us furniture!  Chocolate cake and Settlers sounds like a wonderful evening to me.  :)

OK.  I'll chat about badbordercollie for a moment.  I woke up this morning to her, stretched out beside me on her back like a little mini furry person and with her head on my pillow.  I said "Oh, hello little dog." and she wagged her tail and licked my ear and was so freakin cute.  She escaped out the front this morning but I had to walk the kids to the bus stop.  And she NEVER comes when called.  So ignored her to say bye to the girls before I came back to her.  I finally found her and she was SO HAPPY to see me that I let her run around in the grassy area (and avoid letting me catch her) for like 15 minutes until she was finally worn out.  So I accomplished squee-ing over the cuteness of my dog today.  I think my husband thinks I am one of THOSE WEIRD DOG people.  I probably am.  ;)

I also:

worked

reviewed psych stuff

took my thanatology final (ugh)

took both dogs for a walk with son

took my personality psych final (hmm..)

talked my son through his anxiety about going to a park day.  Practiced relaxation exercises and coping skills

went to said park day.. which turned out AWESOME.  Son had a blast, the kids he met were great.  He spent a couple hours running around and playing sports

cleaned the kitchen

DD2 baked cookies.

Husband and I have like spent no time together and, cheesily enough, went to buy frozen pizza together as a way to chat uninterrupted.

Now he's baking pizza and I am drinking an IPA and we're waiting to eat and watch a movie!

Yesterday after work we spent two and a half hours getting the garden started. We've got a double plot at the community garden and because the soil is really hard to work there, we do traditional rows instead of raised beds. So we put in fourteen rows and composted half of them (need to buy another 8 bags of compost to finish the rest). We also put in row markers/trellis supports and built a bean teepee. And we planted a row each of yellow onion sets, scallions, edamame, Swiss chard, and Jacob's cattle beans. We need to get the tomatoes and peppers transplanted in, as well as get everything else seeded. Maybe Tuesday night we can squeeze that in? Husband's weekend work schedules have been awful lately...

Today so far -

- Woke up with Little Man and lounged and watched cartoons.

- Tidied the kitchen.

- Made eggs, bacon and croissants for breakfast.

- Tidied Little Man's room.

- Put Little Man down for a nap.

To do list for today is much longer -

- Organize my coupon binder (it's a mess, and I'm annoyed because I missed coupons that I had wanted to use on this week's groceries because I couldn't find them).

- Put pumpkin butter to cook in the crockpot.

- Bake cookies with Little Man.

- Make a home made essential oil diffuser (finally got almond oil!).

- Take Little Man outside to play ball (if the maintenance guy ever stops mowing the lawn... it's literally takes him all day because he does it weird...)

- Sort out some food items to donate to the food pantry.

- Write some blog posts.

- Research options for switching my pharmacy.

- Call my Sister.

- Write an email to a friend I need to catch up with.

- Do a load of laundry.

So... we'll see how far I get! Probably I should get off the computer and hop to... :-)

Have you seen these two sites? Garage Sale Finder and Yard Sale Search - you can scope the scene before you head out. :-)

Reasonably productive while Little Man napped (first time I've not been tired enough to nap myself in recent history) -

- Organized my coupon binder.

- Printed some new coupons, clipped them and put them into the binder.

- Put pumpkin butter to cook in the crockpot.

- Sorted out some food items to donate to the food pantry.

- Tidied up the pantry.

- Transferred my prescriptions to a new pharmacy.

I live in a rural area so anything online dealing with yardsales is hit or miss. Eh, it happens. I did a quick load of laundry, vacuumed, rearranged some pictures, and wiped up smudgy fingerprints and stained countertops. I also did a small amount of decluttering. Now law and order CI marathon lol, and soon pizza and a movie!

Very busy, very fun day.  My kitchen accomplished a lot!

- baked ham and cheddar scones for kids' breakfast

- quick natural food co-op run with DS1

- baked ham and cheddar muffins to freeze for DS1 to take back home

- made DS1 some lunch

- started dough for pizza

- took mother to church

- built the pizzas, had dinner

- game of Settlers

- kept up with the dishes that went along with all of the above

DS1 goes back home tomorrow afternoon -- with a tote back full of frozen baked goods!

It sounds like everyone is having a nice weekend!

We are continuing with the Great Bedroom Migration this weekend.  This will not be the last weekend.  Argh.

*Woke up at 630am and couldn't get back to sleep.  So got up and worked for 3 hours until my spreadsheet was finished.

*Got painting.  Painted DD1's room for most of the day, cutting in trim, etc.  I am mostly finished it.  It needs a couple trim touchups and I need to paint the baseboards.  But it's hell on my hands to paint (and knees from getting up and down) so I finally couldn't stomach painting a single minute more.  DD1 helped me as much as she could.

*Helped DD2 get ready to go girl scout camping for the weekend.

*Showed son's friend's dad the bedrooms we had moved so far when he came to pick up son (had to show off a bit!  heh)

*Chatted with friend and DD1 took their 4 yr old to the totlot.  They had to put their kitty to sleep and were distracting their son.  :(

*Moved furniture from the girls' bedroom into their rooms.  Mostly finished moving DD1 into her room.  Got big stuff moved into DD2's room (she's not here to sleep in it until tomorrow, anyway)

*Was exhausted.  Collapsed on the couch with husband, who has been feeling run down and kind of sick all day, even as he has helped me.  OK, DD1, husband and I all fell asleep for a bit.

*Son stayed with friends for dinner.  So we went out with DD1 to eat.

*Stopped at the store for dog food and found awesome looking pallets.  Took them home (husband is making pallet furniture).

*Cleaned kitchen

*Picked up son

*Watched an amazing youtube video about the shuttle's camera angles and it taking off.

*Kids in bed

*Ray and I played an Xbox game and then went to bed.

Today is more bedroom moving, DD1 has a group riding lesson and, I have been saving with my Safeway coupons so I might see if I can add regular coupons to it.

Today was my day to sleep in, and I did until about 9. Then up and breakfast with the boys (pancakes that husband made). Then, a few errands solo because I had to be super fast since husband had to be at work by 12:30 -

- Stopped at Dollar Tree to pick up 2 cartons of soymilk for free with coupons, to donate to the food pantry. Also discovered they now carry cinnamon sugar Pop-Tarts, so I got two boxes for $0.60 each with coupons (we eat them only when on camping trips - easy breakfasts when you're in the wilderness). Also grabbed a giant bottle of bubbles.

- Went to Target to pick up my prescription. It wasn't ready (of course) so I finally found a swimsuit - the one I had a few years ago doesn't fit anymore since I am out of the nursing phase... so I needed one for my now-modest figure. :-) Actually found a cute black and white polka dot bikini that wasn't too skimpy and has good coverage, but it cost $40!!! Major splurge... and I intend to wear it for like, the next 10 years. Going to get my money's worth! Also picked up applesauce and a small package of freeze pops while I was there. And the dumb prescription... I wonder if they tell everyone it's not quite ready so we'll shop?

- Rushed home and spent all of about 10 minutes with husband... sigh. We've been so busy lately. Played Legos with Little Man while we had lunch, and then put him down for a nap. As for the rest of the day, I still have a few things on the list that I didn't get to yesterday -

- Make the home made essential oil diffuser.

- Put clean dishes away from the dishwasher.

- Load the breakfast and lunch dishes into the dishwasher.

- Mend the strap on my backpack.

- Pack a day bag for tomorrow afternoon's visit to the train museum and my in law's house.

- Write a few blog posts (at least the book review that I have due).

But when Little Man wakes up, we're going to spend some time outside playing bubbles so it won't be all work and no play.

Meowmix, how's the move treating you?  When I change things up, I get really excited but exhausted halfway through, especially if I imagine it as a smaller job than it turns out to be.  :-)

Mellow, pleasant day so far:

- quiet morning and early afternoon hanging out with the kids, feeding them quick hot meals

- kept my game face on even though DH found some books in the donation box that he still wanted to read

- packed up a tote full of frozen things for DS1

- took him to the bus station

- got some groceries

- took donation box and recycling out to the car

DH is making dinner tonight.  Tomorrow I think is more time in the attic.  Rest of the day lazy here.

This morning three of my four children weren't feeling as healthy as they usually are so I only went to Mass with my oldest while her siblings stayed home with Papa. We learned about Rogation Days (the next 3 days before Ascension Thursday) and the history of the processions held on those days during the sermon and both received Our Lord Jesus Christ in holy communion, always a happy occasion. We went to the bookstore, said hello to friends, and came home.

After lunch I cut up vegetables for roughly an hour - my hand was quite sore by the time I finished the last one, a sweet potato! - and put them in the crock pot to make tonight's Chicken Pot Pie. As usual, I thought it was delicious but my family, not so much. At least there is plenty left for me to freeze.

While that cooked in the crock pot I copied 8 recipes from an acquaintance's crock pot cookbook that weren't in my smaller crock pot cookbook. I hope to do more of that before I go to bed if the power stays on in the storm.

Tonight I am fighting boredom as I wait for my children's bedtime - my husband went to bed early and that kind of screws up my routine - and trying not to eat too much of the yummy food I made before tomorrow's weigh-in for the 8 week weight loss challenge. By the way, when I told my husband that a friend said I look more slender in my face and arms, he said he thinks the reason I'm not losing my pregnant-looking tummy is because my womb, uterus, etc. are always going to be that size after our children.

Tomorrow I plan to do some cleaning, as a friend has the day off and might come over and she definitely likes to see a cleaner house. We haven't really homeschooled since Thursday so I hope to do some of that too, and if the weather allows I will walk at least one mile and start more laundry.

May God bless you and His Blessed Mother Mary keep you!  :-)

I am not religious, but I love hearing about you practicing your faith.  It sounds so, maybe these aren't the right words, but devout and peaceful.  Also.. my friend had the same issue as you with weight. She was losing it everywhere but her tummy. Someone even congratulated her on her pregnancy and she had to tell them she wasn't pregnant!  She went on some sort of specific diet and has been noticing a big change (I have, too).  If you want, I can get some details from her and pass them along.  It is not prepackaged food or shakes or anything like that.  All real food.

MariaMadly- yes, that's how I feel about this move!  I anticipated two weekends. It's taking longer than that and I am losing steam.  Mainly because the girls are moved into their rooms and all that is left is the office.  But the office is so daunting because it is the girls' old room and REALLY messy.  Fully of old papers, markers and stuff laying everywhere, crafts, notebooks, toys, bits and pieces of legos.  omg.  I'm going to try to finish tackling it today.  I've already filled two garbage bags and one of donations and it's still only half done.  Plus I find it exhausting to work on it.  But it'll get done!  And it will be amazing!  heehee

Oh room move, I am so ready for you to be DONE.  But I was interrupted much of the day yesterday so that affected my time to organize.

I slept in a bit yesterday and husband made breakfast

DD1 had a group riding lesson so that ended up taking up most of my morning and early afternoon.  The instructor was running late and so the lesson was an hour and started late.  Didn't finish up until 12:45 (we got there at 10:45).

Stopped at the library to return some library books

Stopped at Target to get some room items, found nightstands for 50% off, called husband to come and get them.

Came home and ate lunch

Hung pictures and put up some hooks for things in DD1's room

Organized DD2's room.  She was jealous her sister got her room painted but we didn't want to paint hers (besides, she wanted to paint her teeny room bright orange and black.  Her school colors but, um, also dark and Halloween!)

I hung these flower lights from Ikea that I have had forever without putting up.  Put these cute butterfly 3D decals all over her walls and hung some of her pictures.  I think she will be thrilled.  Hung her stuffed animal net that I had never hung before.  Her rooms looks really cute and without painting it! She will see it today when she gets home. her existing walls were pale pink.

Started organizing the office/girls' old room.  Spent over an hour going through old papers on the desk and bits and pieces of things.

Ate a simple dinner- hotdogs and watermelon and sliced veggies.

Son asked us to go out so he could make some "music money" (we pay him to watch the girls)

We were exhausted but did want some time out.  We met some friends at their house and talked about a business idea we have.

We weren't out terribly late.  We were beat and so we came home and collapsed.

Today is more room organizing.  Husband probably will finish the pallet table he worked on yesterday.  I am supposed to visit with a friend as well and DD1 is visiting her friend.

Im probably going to visit my parents a bit so the kids can play outside and I can get laundry detergent-they make huge batches for the family and my laundry needs done. We have tons of bbq left over but we are probably going to make smores on the grill tonight. As for now just ebjoying some quiet time and contemplating some mopping and a nap!0

I am about half done organizing the office and husband has put up the desk and futon.  Pretty much all the girls' stuff is outta there!  Yay.  Now I'm taking a lunch break for leftover soup, even though I'm kinda not really hungry.  Waiting on DD1's friend to get here and I think her mom is going to stay at chat a bit.

Got a little sidetracked at one point, but in a good cause:

- woke up sloooowwwwlllyyy

- folded a load of laundry

- washed and hung two loads

- worked on a small non-profit annual budget

- went to attic to check some numbers, and somehow instead I

- purged a bunch of old cards and letters

- ambled on over next door with DH to feed the horses

I want to finish at least a draft of that budget, build a box I'm mailing to DS1 and his girlfriend, maybe make scones for DS2's breakfast tomorrow, cut onions for tonight's dinner, and maybe watch The Wire.

Thank you for saying that. (I was happy all morning.)

Did your friend lose weight by not eating grains/carbs? If so, my husband doesn't want me to cut out a whole food group. If it's not as drastic as that, yes please tell me about it. I already eat some organic and as healthy as possible. The pregnant question/comment has happened to me not once, but several times - in the grocery checkout line, in the church parking lot, at the fence with my neighbor, etc. - way too many times to count.

Good job moving things around! It sounds like you're getting a lot done.

May God bless you and His Blessed Mother Mary keep you!  :-)

:) Awe, that makes me happy, too.  :)

I don't think she cut out grains totally.  I think she limited them.  I don't think it is low carb.  I dropped her an email to ask her and am waiting to hear back.  I know she eats lots of veggies, lean protein and I want to say she isn't grain free because I'm fairly certain she has brought quinoa and the like to my house to eat.  Ugh on the pregnancy comment.  I know people mean well, but still.  Ugh.  :(

Today has been pretty low key.  I've folded and started some laundry, gone to the grocery store and been to my chiropractor.  I played a couple games of Magic the Gathering with son and lost horribly both times.  heh.  And I've just spent way too long searching for a lost email I need and am about to take my badbordercollie for a walk with a friend.  Son did his school work and is sleeping right now- he said he woke up lots of bad dreams last night and is exhausted.

- built ham and cheddar scones for DS2 (froze before baking so I can make one or two at a time fresh for him)

- post office to mail a box for DS1 and one to MIL for her upcoming birthday

- dropped off more donations

- took recycling to the dump

- went to yoga

- home, woke, and fed DS2

- finalized proposed budget for small nonprofit and sent it around to board

- many cubic feet of attic progress today:  moved DS1's boxes down to his room, his captain's bed has room underneath for all of them

- purged some books

- chatted with DS2 about school-and-stuff; he is sounding less stressed

- roasted and diced some chicken

- made dinner for DS2

- made dinner with DH

Bed soon.

Mixed bag after work today -

- Browsed for jobs (because frankly, I just can't take it anymore).

- Went by the garden with the boys and planted the tomato and pepper seedlings, rushing to beat thunderstorms.

- Spent some time with Little Man before his bedtime.

- Made dinner.

- Did some office work for that That Place That I Hate With a Vehement Passion.

- Tidied the house.

- Watched the last two episodes of this season of The Americans with husband.

- Sorted through the mail.

Ought to go to bed soon, if I know what's good for me....

My poor kid was sick all afternoon.  So he slept literally the entire afternoon and until dinner.

For the rest of the day I:

Took nonobadbordercollie for a walk with my friend.

Greeted girlies and saw them off to the pool (they passed the swim test and can go by themselves).

Folded laundry.

Made some sort of stuffed chicken breast thing with wild rice that turned out pretty good!

Walked to the pool with husband to see kids, but they had closed the pool due to the storm coming in.

Alternated between finishing dinner and reading my book

Ate dinner

Read to the kids, tucked them in

Read my book, watched Continuum and went to bed!

So sorry, that just blows.  You said you were house hunting too, are you able to look at other parts of the country?

Glad to hear you're better, especially with that timing!  My kids were up-late-sleep-late, and 0530 would have leveled me.

Waiting for a second wind to magically descend upon me:

- regular morning boot-up, online banking, etc.

- dropped off dry cleaning for DH

- went by Walmart for my mother's meds and some household things

- Bed, Bath & Beyond for a soap dish (Walmart's were ugly . . . )

- home, put stuff away

- quick email exchange with Briard breeder; we've asked to be put on list for puppy and are waiting for a litter and our references to (hopefully) pass muster

- put some work travel dates from DH in my calendar

- coffee break now

Rest of the day:

- vacuum the storage space under DS1's bed for all those boxes from attic (then cutting DH loose on them, the man has amazing packing-fu)

- more attic purging / sorting set aside still-good blankets for donation -- and found a roll of wallpaper from 1977!!!

- build soup for tomorrow

- gently encourage DS2 out of bed; my mother is making him potato pancakes for his breakfast

Windy, cloudy, drizzly, and in the 50's here -- so happy!

Thanks. I'm extra frustrated because I've put in a lot of time with this company, and there's a lot of lip service and not a lot of change... it's like a bad boyfriend that's impossible to break up with! We're pretty limited in where we can look for house/new job because my husband wants to stay reasonably close to his family, and I tend to agree since it's good for Little Man to have family ties. So the furthest we can look is southern Wisconsin/Eastern Iowa. Which I am definitely doing!

Today at That Place That Shall Not Be Named was slightly more tolerable than yesterday - at least today my computer was actually half working. Win. After work -

- Spent time with Little Man.

- Made pasta salad for a lunch potluck at work tomorrow (us worker bees in the trenches try to do nice things for ourselves, at least...).

- Sorted through the mail.

That's pretty much it so far. Need to do a bit more work (at least this spreadsheet that I need to get out of my hair), and find a new book to read and just try to relax. I was up late in the worrying/anxious/insomnia cycle, so I'm basically fried. I'll probably fall asleep halfway through the Hawks game...
