Is it just me, or is TAO really quiet lately??

Many of the threads on the board have been silent for over 10 days.

Is everyone on vacation?
No new topics?
Anyone there?

Yes, it's really quiet. Is it time for another "What supernatural experiences have you had" thread?

MDC has been quiet since the switch.

I haven't been on TAO much since I noticed that it's no longer semi-private...maybe others are bothered by it too.

It's probably the switch. I have been here about 1/5 the time that I was before. I just don't find it as user friendly as it was before, and the forum splits are not as intuitive. The huge ads on the right bug the heck out of me. I keep trying to warm up to it, but no progress yet. And because my favorite forums are really slow there is not a lot of incentive to come around.

It's mostly the switch which is keeping me from posting. Although I was reading more until this new mobile update has prevented me from getting on at all via my browser. I've come on with Tapatalk this afternoon but I don't like it.

I too do not like the new forum format... not intuitive or user-friendly at all. I only come here for the three threads I follow regularly, and then pretty much forget everything else because it's so convoluted to find new stuff. There's just way too much noise on the site now cluttering things up. And I hate that you have to dig around in the control panel (if you can find it first) to change or update anything.

I've been absent for a while but I feel like there was yet another site redesign after I went AWOL. This seems slightly less clunky than I remember right before I quit. I like the phone interface.

Right before I rage quit I was regularly typing long posts and having them disappear. That kills my interest in participating. I pour an unhealthy amount of emotion into my posts. Losing them... Oh that hurts.

My advice may not be appropriate for you. That's ok. You are just fine how you are and I am the right kind of me.

I was on more about 18 months ago and thought even then that MDC was so much quieter than it used to be. What happened? Is there another site people use now? Nobody is here and when I first joined all the threads moved so damn fast. Too much moderation? Too many changes? Moved to just social media?

Yup. I joined in 2005 and it was hopping in here. You'd start a thread and by the end of the day, it'd be at least on the second page. Hopefully it'll pick up some with the recent changes that are kind of moving things back to how things were on here awhile ago.

Yes, it is very quiet.

I remember that the first page of the TAO forum would have threads that were full and started that day. Today, the first page of TAO has threads from two or three weeks ago. Yes, this place was hopping.

I guess many women have moved on. Many moms came here for advice for a problem, joined in a few discussions here and there and moved on. I have been a big fan of Mothering since the first issue, 1976, and I was so happy to see the website back 15 years ago! I recall how I just loved getting the magazine every three months (then two months) and read it cover to cover until the next one came. I guess I have not moved on.

Everything changes.

Have you noticed all the spammers lately, too? It's too bad. I have to look much more closely at threads. Just yesterday I wrote a long reply to a thread not having noticed that the thread was from 2011 and had been bumped up by a work-at-home scammer. Bummer.

The new site format does not work well for me, so I've cut down on use. I can't easily find live discussions. Hopefully our DDC doesn't suffer too much for it.

I've been using tapatalk for all my forums and mdc isn't working on it anymore which is why I've been fairly inactive
