I love Christ. I love Christmas. I love giving and creating.

But the music, the inflatable grinches and santas that play awful music and dance like they are on amphs.... they have to go.....

I was bah humbuggy last year, and for many years before.

But, this year, I'm loving Christmas! My son is bringing the magic back for me. He's going nuts over the Christmas tree, the Christmas train, Christmas shows, the mall Santa - everything red and green and lighted...

I'm trying to teach him to sing and sign Rudolph and Jingle Bells.

I still hate those inflatable characters, though... Give me a lighted lawn reindeer any day over those things!

You can find me on Facebook. PM for info.

:great LM.

Charmarty. My kids have Unicorn costumes too. (are yours purple?) The girls wear them while the boys wear their red fierce dragon costumes and we all take 'magical' walks to our smalltown downtown. They all look so cute. THAT is Christmas spirit: Children enjoying life!

Hello, NM. THank you. I feel your prayers. God is so good.

Hey Sunshine! How have you been? Where have you been?
Glad to see ya

I would LOVE to see that!

My girls would SO get into that!

Thier costumes are white. There was only ONE purple costume left.... And they both had to have it, so we settled on the white They tried to sleep in them tonight:LOL Too HOT!

Yes, children are what the Spirit of Christmas is all about...

Merry Christmas to all

I'm sorry that a holiday that is so precious to you is so often celebrated in showy and cheezy ways. Lights, I love... but yeah, those inflatable things are creepy as hell... there is just nothing about a giant Frosty the Snowman with an industrial blower up his ass that says, "I am celebrating the glorious birth of my Christ!"... um, unless I am missing something...

But eff it... I am having a fun time making the best of the holiday without losing my mind over it LOL. Send me a pic of your troupe in costume! That does sound magical...

Ezra likes lights so I am trying to motivate myself to untangle them and put some up...

I'm trying so, so hard to remember that. I used to be such a Christmas freak, but so many of our decorations were made by my grandmother, who passed away in September, and I'm just not ready to look at them yet. I dread opening our storage boxes. Tonight, I couldn't watch Charlie Brown's Christmas b/c my grandparents had taken me to see it in the theater when I was little...and a couple years ago my grandmother gave me the commemorative Peanuts holiday book to remind me. Too many memories right now. Last Christmas, I never would have dreamt that my grandmother wouldn't be around this year. I have her latest unfinished project--crocheted Santa ornaments--sitting in a basket in my living room.

My kids are excited. Filled with the spirit of the season. They're painting pictures of Christmas trees, creating gifts for relatives, writing a holiday play. And I don't want to stifle their joy, but yeah...

Bah, humbug!!

I am a huge fan of Christmas lights though. We do Christmas on a small scale at our house. And it feels so fun this year.

But years ago when I worked at a grocery store and then I went on to work at a bank, the Christmas music was nonstop. And it started in November. This is the first year that I am truly enjoying Christmas music again

last year I didn't do Christmas at all. THis year I am taking a couple of 6 year olds shopping for their parents. They like feeling all grown up and buying presents for their parents that they haven't seen before. ANd then I am having four little girls over to make gingerbread houses. Other than that I am not decorating, shopping or doing Christmas. It sucks not having a baby for the holidays when you are supposed to.

I'm kind of in the middle - neither into the holidays nor humbuggy - I think that I've had too much to do - getting the holiday going would just be more work and I don't have much to look forward to so I'm not getting excited and I'm not upset about it because I spent all my upset points in the last few years - I think I've basically given up... I seem to be doing that about a lot of stuff
( no offense but please no suggestions about how insert religion of your choice would make me feel better about the season - it's not for me but I am glad you have good feelings due to your beliefs )
