|Liam Osias Andrews was born 1/1/05. He is so very beautiful!
He was a surprise double footling breech, and his arms were over his head. We transported to the hospital, but he was stuck for a while, and had no heartbeat when he came out. The ER team got his heart beating again, and he was flown to the NICU at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
What we know right now:
Completely dependent on a ventilator for breathing
CT scan shows brain swelling
No response of pupils or other reflexes to stimulus.
IF he recovers, he will have brain damage, probably severe. He is scheduled for an MRI and EEG today to see if he has any brain activity. If not, we will be faced with taking him off the ventilator so he can pass gently. Pray for us.

I am assuming she had planned on a homebirth and the breech presentation was a surprise . . . am I correct on this?? I was just curious.
