WHY are you here?

* Note that I said collectively... this question does not apply for those who believe in and participate some things that are a part of MDC but not all.... I think that describes a lot of us. It applies to those who have clearly asserted themselves in multiple forums to fundamentally disagree with seemingly everything that MDC stands for.

I'm just so curious. There are sooooooo many boards out there that meet your ideas. Why be here?

I'm just here for the GAY sigs.

(OK, I'll let you get back to your regular thread now...)

I have wondered the same thing. I think they come here to stick it in our faces. "Look, hippies, I'm a formula-feeder who thinks 6-week-old babies cry to manipulate! Whatcha gonna do?"

They claim they are here because they like organic cooking...but come on.

I usually see them in the Current Events or Activism forums, but they often troll the breastfeeding forums as well. They pick the forum they are most against and go there.

I haven’t seen any of them… yet. But then again I have a bad habit of only opening threads that look interesting to me, I don’t read a lot of things. I miss ALL the good stuff doing that! :

I wonder this myself. Why is it ok for a proclaimed NFL community to be ennundated with people like this. Us NFL people would be banned or laughed out of a mainstream group...

I've been reading old posts, from 4-5 months ago and there is at least one active poster who admitted she is not into AP all that much, and pretty much don't buy into it as a psychological philosophy.

I dunno, I support most AP principles but I am here mainly to support and learn more about AP and advocate for NFL. I just lurk on the "more AP than thou" battles.

I saw it in an old post as well, however the most likely place to see them is on the cloth diper board. (no flames please!) Not everyone who cloth diapers is into NFL. A good portion, but not all.

And I guess what I saw today really doesn't pertain to this post, but I was just shocked to read an opinion like that on such a pro-family board. But everone is entitled to their opinions I guess. I usually keep quiet, but I spoke up. I just hope I don't get ignored. That happens to me a lot.

yes. I also want to add.. ofcourse I would assume we are all against CIO, pro EBF, pro-GD, anti-spanking, anti-genital mutilation. But certain things like vaccines.. those I really DO believe there are 2 sides to. It's like saying a mama doesn't belong here in a natural family living community because she chooses to give her baby antibiotics (not exactly your herbal remedy) to cure an illness. JMO ofcourse

Well, I must be drawn to the drama because I see it all the time! Go check out the new thread Cynthia had to post in the Family Bed forum. She didn't just do if for her health.

Because people lurk over here, link back things to other boards, and then they all sit around and bash/make fun of threads here. I'm sure that some of them take it a step further and actually post here just to stir the pot.

I've seen this happen before...

I miss most of the drama. My boys are way older and past the diapering/breastfeeding stages and family bed, we just kind of did musical beds and it worked for us. So, I mostly hang out in TAO where the drama is of a different nature. :LOL

It's so different being a mom with dc's who are older and finally feeling mostly comfortable with the way we have done things. There are some things I would change if I could go back and redo, but since that isn't possible I do not beat myself up over it.

OTOH...as an older, experienced mom, maybe I should be hanging out in other forums and not here just for fun...

I went to look at a mainstream board earlier today...it was a strange experience...

No matter how soggy I may seem here, I know I do not belong there.

Maybe there are trolls...or new mamas who are confused about what this board is like...and maybe they will learn something here...you never know.
