My favorite cousin is in the hospital.

Have any ideas?
and since H&H is slow moving, I'm hoping to catch a few more comments.

Edited to change title b/c no one was even looking at my thread, I'm too tired to be interesting.

sounds to me like the same symptoms my grandfather had, but his was just basic congenative (sp?) heart failure. Did they test for diabetes? I know that does something to the kidneys (FIL has diabetes) Sure wish I could help you - <----- I know it doesn't help much, just wanted to show some support

Thanks
We do have a family history of diabetes. I hope they'll test for it. Thanks for the suggestion.

I hope you get some answers soon. I've heard about diabetes in relation to auto-immune disorders. Are you thinking that his illness is caused by environmental factors because of the chemical/biological exposure?

Thanks, mamas for all the support. It helps.
No answers yet. . .
I think his glucose levels were normal when they did the initial blood screening, so I don't think they are suspecting diabetes at this point.
Just suspecting that all the vaccinations/chemical exposure in the "Gulf Crisis" could have caused something to go haywire. I know his wife is also suspecting this, so hopefully they'll bring it up!
Anyway, thanks again for all of the support, May was a looong month (I had strep throat and a bad stomach virus, my dh had/s debilitating sciatica, I parented alone while I was sick and my dcs got chicken pox-which we was the high point and the same stomach bug, and we had no income b/c dh didn't work and is self employed) so sorry to come here and whine, but I've just had my fill.

Thanks! We know nothing conclusive yet. He is home, on a nitro patch and about 10 other medications. His kidney function is down 60% still, but his bp is controlled by meds. They are testing his kidneys to see if they are manufacturing a certain hormone and if not, he will need a kidney biopsy. The Drs have not given any possible diagnoses yet, so we're just waiting. But, at least he is at home, exhausted, but functioning.

glad he is home. Things always feel better at home. Best wishes for some good news soon.
